The media could not be loaded. I’ve had this for two days. I’ve worn it four times. It does keep me cool in the California heat and sun. I have a small head and the adjustable mechanism is OK but not perfect. The reason I’m OK with it is because I walked in 28 mph winds and very sunny weather today and I used the chin strap. It worked. I don’t like the sweat band. Maybe when it’s 110 outside I will, but today I tucked it up above my head so that the sweat band helps keep the hat on since I have a smaller head. Price is great. I bought it because I read a lot of other reviews that said it worked well. I like the overall coverage because I was able to walk on a hot,, windy, sunny day and that’s why I bought this. I want to be able to walk and be protected anytime of day. I walk 3-5 miles every single day and this hat with its full protection will help. My SPF 100 sun umbrella would not have worked in this wind. I’m going to keep this hat. I wish they made one for smaller heads. If the manufacturer is reading this, make one for smaller heads. It’s an excellent hat otherwise. I’ll update my review after I’ve worn it in San Francisco in April on a sunny day. If it can withstand SF winds and sun, it’s a keeper.

For a repeat visit with family to DisneyWorld and Orlando at the end of August I needed to be better prepared than a previous visit. This hat, particularly in white, is extremely effective in blocking sun on all of the face, head, and the often overlooked back of the neck. I can’t vouch for the claims of “30 degrees of cooling”, but keeping the hat wet does help provide relief and its cooling effect is definitely noticeable. I loved that it shaded not just my face, nose, and ears, but all the way around the back of the neck. This is absolutely worth the moderate investment if you’re going to spend more than an hour a day in the strong sun, or need protection from direct sun. It was the best thing I did to prepare for all day outside activities in central Florida.

Nice looking, good quality, good sun protection. Has useful cord for under your chin, to secure it in the wind. Albeit, that it feels silly…. like a wearing a bonnet. I am going to order in the other colors. I got navy but want more.
