Great bike for the price but not as powerful as other 60 V bikes I owned

Let's be honest up front--any bike lock that costs $7 isn't likely to keep a determined thief from taking your bike. And this Misodo cable bike lock is definitely that. But just because it's inexpensive doesn't mean that it doesn't have a place and a purpose. Sometimes all you need is a mild deterrent to keep someone who's mostly honest from making a bad, impulsive decision to, say, take your bike for a joy ride. Or to cause someone to look for an easier target because they don't have the tools or time to defeat even a basic cable lock like this. And for that purpose, this cable lock is just fine. I appreciate that this lock can be re-programmed with whatever 5 digit code you want--that helps a lot in being able to remember your code. Resetting the code is very simple, just unlock the lock, turn the knob on the end of the lock (it's hidden when the lock is closed) 90 degrees, rotate the dials to your chosen code, then turn the knob back to its original position. The number dials on the lock rotate fairly easily but have obvious detents for each number, without a lot of play between the detents, so I found it easy to lock and unlock this lock. The cable measures about 3/8" diameter overall, including the vinyl outer coating (with is nice to have so the cable doesn't damage your bike's finish); the inner metal cable appears to be about 1/4" in diameter, maybe just a little less, but I have no way of getting a more accurate measurement without stripping off the vinyl outer coating and damaging the lock. Regardless, I would expect that a simple pair of cable cutters would quickly sever this cable. I think that's true for all but the stoutest of cable locks, so I'm not faulting this cable lock for that vulnerability. The included mounting bracket is an okay option for mounting the cable directly to your bike, but it's a pretty basic mount, and, depending on the diameter of the bike tube you fasten this to, the screws used to fasten it may stick out enough that they pose a risk of scratching the rider (see my photo). Overall, I don't think you can ask for a lot when you buy a bike cable lock for $7 (that's the price of this lock at the time I ordered it). This functions perfectly fine as a theft deterrent for low risk situations and/or low cost bikes for short durations. I certainly wouldn't use this to secure a $5,000 bike in a bad neighborhood, but then again, a lock for that application would probably cost 10x or more, and still wouldn't be a guarantee that the bike would be there when you get back.

One star smh more like 0 stars The absolute worst bike ive ever owned what a mistake buying this pos. Please put your money else where. First the package was destroyed ripped to shreds with nuts and bolts falling out as i was moving it. Fedex even delayed delivery to inspect damage they packed a 100lb bike in a cardboard box and hoped for the best. Yes of course there was damage to the bike and yes rhere were many missing bolts trying to put it together sucked cause i had to go buy the same size blots. The front tire fell off as my daughter was rideing it and got really hurt. And i torque the front axle nut well over 35 ft lbs. It has to be the worst design to hold a front tire on an ebike maybe a pedal bike but not a bike that goes as they say 40mph ya right more like 30mph and im being nice. The battery is no where near 5500 watts and the distance is less then half they say you will get i had to go rescue mt daughter a few time di to a dead battery when goi ng around maybe 40miles. Its not a 16" bike its a 12" with a higher frame the tires are 12" but they say its 16" because the wheel and tire after inflation is 16" bwhaha What a joke smh. The worst part about it is another terrible design flaw is the pedals and how they sit and the short crank on a heavy bike. It is impossible for a 14 yr old girl to pedel its even hard for me to pedal. I cant even send it back now because as i mentioned my daughter fallingcrom the front wheel flying off ya well now the forks are bentans the breaks are misaligned. I urge you to stay away from this hunk of junk.oh and the thing is so squeaky load its obnoxious.

This lock will not really stop anyone from taking off with your bike / scooter. For someone with the right tools this would take a couple of seconds to defeat. I think it's important anyone looking at this understands that. This lock could be circumvented with a fairly small pair of cable cutters or bolt cutters. For me, in a city with a reasonably high bike theft rate, this is a supplemental lock that can help secure parts of a bike not easily secured by more rigid solutions. Front tires, bike seats, helmets and other stuff like that. The name of the game in bike protection, for me at least, is to present to most difficult target I can. I use a U-Bolt with an extension cable as well as a coil lock like this. When a potential thief looks at my bike there will be a bunch of interconnected locking systems that each can be defeated in time but the steps to get there are higher than just looking for another bike with less protection (sorry everyone else!). The sad truth is that portable angle grinders can get through most the locks you and I are likely to buy. There are some new ones that will make the angle grinder work harder than most thieves would like but at that point cutting the thing it's connected to is often a viable option. So, buy this lock if you are looking for something small and reasonably light to allow some flexibility in securing parts of your ride that are otherwise difficult to secure with more rigid mechanisms. It's cheap, seems reasonably well made for what it is, and can serve as part of an overall deterrent strategy.
