Description

Whether you daily drive a stock STI or rallycross a modified WRX, an efficient cooling system is key to extending the life of your flat-four. The plastic end tanks of the stock radiator are especially prone to cracking from years of constant variation in temperature. A radiator failure can result in overheating, head gasket failure, and other engine damage that can quickly put an end to a fun day at the track. Protect your investment with the Mishimoto performance radiator engineered specifically for the 2001-2007 Subaru WRX and STI. After identifying the radiator in these vehicles as a weak point, our engineers set out to provide an efficient, durable radiator that can take the abuse of competitive driving and provide the reliability you need for daily commuting. The Mishimoto Subaru radiator features all-aluminum construction, which provides increased heat and pressure tolerance, improved heat dissipation, and improved cooling efficiency. The 100% brazed aluminum core and TIG-welded end tanks provide optimal durability and years of efficient and reliable service. This radiator is a complete bolt-in unit and replaces the factory radiator without requiring any modification to your Subaru. The Mishimoto Subaru Performance Aluminum Radiator includes a high-pressure 1.3 bar radiator cap. This cap effectively raises the boiling point of the coolant, thus providing a higher threshold for safe temperatures and resulting in a more efficient cooling system. This radiator provides a significant increase in coolant capacity, which allows for aggressive driving while retaining safe coolant temperatures. Keep your Subaru on the street and out of the shop with the Mishimoto Subaru WRX and STI Performance Aluminium Radiator. As with all our products, this radiator includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

  • High quality
Very nice radiator, showed up in perfect shape definitely worth the money.

  • Came looking used…. Fins where bent and whole thing was scratched not polished….
Overall great product but should be polished fully with no scratches right out of the box and no bent fins…. Fitment was 100% perfect 👍🏻. Be sure to tighten drain plug before install because it comes hand tight from factory.

  • Quality Problems
The first radiator was poorly shaped. It was curved instead of straight. And the top was tipped at an angle. It went back. The second radiator was straight enough, but not perfectly straight. I could not screw in the threaded plug they provide because the threads were galled. Bought a special NPT tap to fix it, which delayed my project. Pretty disappointed in the quality. ... show more

  • Could Not Be Happier
The the upper seal on my '02 WRX radiator went out at 85K miles and needed to get a new one. I thought about getting a standard OEM radiator but decided to spend a little extra to get this better one. I do not race my car so I didn't really need the increased cooling capacity, but I figured that this radiator was built better and would last longer. I am soo glad I purchased this radiator. Instead of taking it to a shop and have them charge me $300 extra to put it in I decided to install it myself. I will preface this by saying that I have very limited car maintenance experience. I don't even change my own oil. The most I've done is put in a catback exhaust. Despite my lack of experience, I was able to install this in about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. I did have an issue with over heating and a CEL indicator but that was due to not having enough coolant in the system and not burping the system all the way. I will include a quick step by step of what I did for people looking to do this on their own: 1) Put the vehicle on jack stands 2) Disconnect the battery 3) Drain the old fluid into a pan (I used a small hose to help guide the coolant into the pan. This will take about 10 minutes) 4) Then I removed all the hoses connected to the radiator and reservoir. (I think there were 4 or 5 in total) 5) Then I unplugged the fan connectors (those were a real pain in the a** to undo) 6) Then I slowly lifted the radiator and fans out of the engine bay 7) I swapped the fans over to the new radiator and used the new hardware provided 8) Placed the new radiator back into the engine bay (make sure to align the two points on the bottom of the radiator with the two rubber holders at the bottom of the engine bay) 9) Reconnect all the hoses (I recommend buying new upper and lower hoses. I got both of them at autozone for about $8 a piece) 10) Fill the radiator with coolant (keep the cap off) 11) Reconnect the battery 12) Start the vehicle and allow the coolant to circulate 13) Continue to fill the radiator as the coolant goes down 14) Once the coolant does not go down any more firmly squeeze the upper radiator hose and burp the system to get the air out. Air in the system will cause the engine to overheat. 15) Close of the radiator and make sure everything is connected 16) Take the vehicle off the jacks and take it for a quick drive. I had to stop several times to top the coolant off and keep the engine from over heating. Note: Make sure that all the hoses and the drain plug are really secured. I didn't tighten the bottom hose and drain plug enough which caused my radiator to leak coolant. ... show more

  • Didn’t buy it for the finish
Great price, I bought it because it gave more volume. And it fits. If you buy it for the finish. Plan on spending a huge chunk of your day sanding and polishing. Finish is total crap. So is the package. The air vents came dented. Don’t remember ordering parts I have to fix. Before I put them in. Package needs to be way better. ... show more

  • Exceptional product and buying experience. But where are my stickers??? I needz teh stickerz
This review is a two part one. Firstly for the product itself and secondly for Amazon's quality of service. I ordered this radiator for saturday shipping and was told to expect it by or before 8 pm on saturday. Sure enough it arrived before, way before. I came home at 10 am to leave a note for Fedex just incase they needed a signature as I could not chance missing delivery. Upon inspection I noticed mishimoto really has pride in their product. It was packaged in a beautiful black box with glossy logo printed down the side with a product name and description rather than your usual brown box with simple serial number and barcode. That was a great first impression. Things just got better from there. The radiator was neatly packaged with protective sleeves and a company print clear vacuum sealed plastic wrapping. The fit was absolutely spot on. In fact, it may be the best fitting non factory piece on my car. The welds are beautiful and it makes a great show piece on top of being a great service/performance part. The only two things I have to gripe about are the fact that no matter what you do, it seems the overflow nipple block off is a destined to fail install. I ended up just using epoxy to seal off the hole as the bolt snapped in half stuck in the thread. My only other complaint is the lack of stickers. Seriously Mishimoto, how am I supposed to tell everyone my car is super fast and sponsored without super awesome brand name stickers? Other than that I am way more than satisfied with the product and exceptionally happy with the buying experience. Would recommend to anyone with a cracked crappy stock radiator. Seriously just splurge so you never have to replace the stock junk radiator again. Would totally do it again but I don't cause I have a proper radiator now ... show more
