The glockenspiel arrived on time and well packaged. The sound is very nice and crisp, including the higher notes. Seems well tuned to my ear, but haven't checked pitches with a digital tuner yet. The package included two pairs of plastic mallets though, without a wooden pair like pictured.

This glockenspiel is pretty decent but I wonder who exactly the makers had in mind when they came up with this design. This is an amateur-level instrument. I guess it's possible that a beginner might need to bring their glockenspiel to a recital but I'm not sure that this one would be a good one to take. The included case does not fit the instrument snuggly. You can heare the keys clanking around while you're carrying it. Everyone will know what's in your bag. With the particular unit that I tested, the tuning was a bit off. We're not talking about a huge amount but a few notes definitely were not in tune with the rest of the notes. According to my digital tuner, NONE of the notes were true. If you plan on using this glockenspiel for an accompaniment to another instrument, then you've got to keep in mind that you may have to tune the other instrument to best match the tuning of the glockenspiel. For me, that's a deal-breaker. This instrument has a wooden frame that uses hinges to fold. It's cool that you have the option to fold this thing for storage and transport. I think that the foldability is the main selling point here. If you're just looking for a fun new instrument to play around with, you could do a lot worse than this MIRIO glockenspiel but I can't recommend it for serious performance or recording.

The Foldable Glockenspiel Xylophone Percussion Set is a must have for anyone who loves music. A great beginner set with good quality sound. The xylophone is pretty sturdy and should last a very long time. I am looking forward to learning how to play.

This Glockenspiel produces beautiful sounds and is very well built. It is easy to setup and use and just as easy to fold and put back in its sturdy carrying case for storage. It is light enough to carry anywhere and enjoy the beautiful sounds.

pretty good deal. Sounds good enough to incorporate it with my music room. Got it next to my wifes Piano and keyboard set up. I might just set it up next to our drum set. Comes with a carrying case and folds in 1/2. comes also with two sticks and the keys on the xylophone are marked with the note they are in.
