I'm one of those people who can't get a decent polyurethane finish with a brush. I used this on a slab desk project and it was so easy to get a nice finish compared to any other way of doing it. The first couple of coats probably soaked right in. It takes a long time to get any build up but that's also a good thing. Count on using 6-8 coats and spending a couple of days on the finish. The instructions really aren't clear about sanding between coats. Never sand unless it's been cured for 24 hours. If you go 2-3 hours between coats you don't sand at all. If you have to go longer than three hours, then you have to wait 24 hours and sand before the next coat. I wish they were more clear about that. But I did the finish outdoors because I don't have a garage and didn't even have dust nibs in the finish. Highly recommend it. Surprisingly it didn't have a lot of stinky fumes. I used a respirator at first but it really wasn't needed. ... show more

I needed convenience for several small projects & didn't want to bother with buying a can as I usually do because there is always poly left over & this container is easier to seal than a can. I've used Minwax products for years and so this isn't my 1st time using their polyurethane at all. I sealed 3 sets of custom made furniture risers that had been stained but not sealed. This is my dogs wood food bowl holder, it was actually a shade lighter before and had no real polish/varnish so I decided to try and do it myself. I’ve neverrr done any kind of wood work so I was nervous, but I chose this one because its whipe on! It does exactly as stated, no brush strokes left on it, super easy, dries very fast and there was no real smell! I could even do it inside in a separate room where I let it dry! Just put some kind of cloth or sheet under so if it drips, but even then it was easy to get out of the floor! Also keep in mind, it DID make my wood a slight shade darker, it is something to be informed of. It wasn’t a lot just some but important to be aware of. Adds protection with a nice finish to even old oak cabinet. Easy to use rub it on with a lint free cloth or use a brush. Clean up great and not to strong of a smell. Drys in a few hours to touch. Cures in 24-48 hours.

I applied this to the bottom of my desk to match the top. Clean with alcohol, remove any dust, apply poly with a lint-free rag, let it sit for a minutes, and wipe off the excess. It's super easy to apply
