So I like the ease of working with the wipes, but the end result is more like paint than stain. Sometimes this helps, sometimes it detracts from the look. Works well on smaller projects, definitely not for a consistent finish if used on larger pieces. The cloths stick to each other. You may get 2 or 3 sheets out at a time.     • Forget stain markers. This was what worked on kitchen cabinets.
Color: Maple Size: Maple
Stain markers just made a mess of trying to repair the wear marks just above the knobs on our cabinets. I believe it was fingernails over the years that caused the problem, so I switched the knobs for some not as close to the cabinet door, ordered this in maple, and got to work. I tried a dab on the back of a door, and once I saw it would match I cleaned the actual spots with alcohol and applied. I suggest applying in a sweeping motion with the grain in light passes until the desired match is obtained. You can clean with alcohol and start over again of you make a mistake, but it may take some of the original outer finish if not done carefully. I did not use the cloths at all, I used small squares of cloth and dabbed them into the finis to apply since these were small repairs. Minwax makes fantastic products, and I should have tried this first as it was the least expensive and the best solution. ... show more

A little before and after shot of a dresser I sanded down and stained for our bedroom. The stain wipes are SO convenient. Easy to clean up, comes off skin with soap and water and a little scrubbing. No need for brushes, cans of stain.

These are great for doing small jobs. Best of there is almost no clean up. Each little towel only holds a small amount of stain and you have to work quick or it will start to dry before you're ready. It took three towels to do less than three square feet, but the ease of use and clean up is worth it. For a larger job I'll go back to wiping on canned stain/finish. ... show more

The color was right on but the stain on the cloth in my opinion was too thick and hard to spread evenly leaving dark and light areas as I applied. The gloves included were totally inadequate ( had to use disposable ones from another source) but stain was easily removed from hands with soap and water and a bit of scrubbing. This method is convenient but I think I’ll stick with the regular more controllable stain in the future. Wish they had a nail polish this color. ... show more

    • A little bit thick…
Color: Maple Size: Maple
These wipes would be great for little crafts or small touch-ups, but we aware the stain is extremely thick which makes it somewhat difficult to apply and takes a lot of reworking to make it look nice. I used it to touch up a stained piece of furniture that was a similar color originally. I sanded the piece lightly and didn’t remove most of the original finish, then I used these wipes across the entire surface of the furniture. I used quite a few wipes because I was unhappy with how thick and blotchy the stain applied initially. I ended up finding the method that worked best was to wipe down the whole area with the stain then wipe down the whole area with a damp rag, then wipe down the area with the stain again and repeat until you achieve the desired finish. This helped to thin out the stain a bit to get a more even finish and I’m very happy with the results! If you don’t need a whole can of stain, this is a great option, but it’s not entirely mess-free and you WILL get it all over your hands unless you wear a decent pair of gloves (although I will say it washes off the skin very easily with a little soap and scrubbing). ... show more
