  • It was good while it lasted, which was three months. Welcome to the new (blurry) normal.
Color: Black
I loved the camera when I first started using it. I took all kinds of photos--landscapes, portraits, bursts, videos. Then, one day, a little over three months after purchase, it started acting up. I would zoom in for a photo, and though it looked good initially, as soon as it took the image, it became blurry. You could see it happen in that brief moment and that's exactly how the photo would come out. This was in autofocus mode, but it did the same with other settings. I contacted Elite Brands (who I guess own Minolta) for technical support. They had me mail the camera at my own expense. It returned a few weeks later without any notice. I contacted Elite Brands and they said that they emailed me, but I did not receive a message and I checked my email span folder as well. Anyway, I tried out the camera and the photos were still blurry. So, I contacted them again and they saidf "Thank you for your further message. The camera is operating normal, it does not have any issues. You will not see a difference with a different copy. Thank you." I've had Minoltas for three decades and I've never had a problem. But now, I guess, they are OK with telling customers that blurry photos are normal regardless of the "copy" of camera you may have. I'll be changing brands. Blurry is not normal nor are their comments normal. I've shared a photo of what they say is normal. ... show more

  • Good camera for the price
Color: Blue
The camera is nice. I bought for my son who’s in Photography at school. The quality is good. I wish the zoom was better but overall it is a good camera for the price.

  • A fantastic camera
Color: Blue
Although out of business in c2007, Sony lives up to the Classic Innovative Minolta name. Love this camera. The macro is unreal. Only gripe would be the mode selector wheel up top needs to be a little stiffer on the click settings as you turn it. It will turn too easily. I would consider this a professional camera at a fantastic price. Hot shoe for flash or pro microphone. And the swivel display is great. Throw it on a tripod. Set the timer and take great family photos. ... show more

  • disappointed-hoped for more.
Color: Blue
nice looking and feeling camera-lots of features. However, I bought this camera since my kodak 16 and 20 mega pixel cameras have blurring issues when taking non flash art museum photos. I thought that with the much higher mega pixel rating of this camera, that I could take much better indoor non-flash art museum photos. After taking the camera to 3 art museum visits, I discovered, much to my disappointment, that this is not the case. It is hit or miss, with approx half of photos taken in focus and the rest blurred, in fact, a worse record than my 20 mega pixel Kodak, which has almost all artwork photographed in focus. If this camera worked out, I would have also bought its' cheaper little brother, same pixel rating-not now. I also discovered that Minolta batteries for this camera are sold out-no indication when they will be in stock again-not sure if comparable non-Minolta batteries will work with the camera. In good light, fortunately, camera is very sharp-big fall off in low light. I will now just use this camera as a backup to my other Kodak cameras. ps-just checked the manual despite 64 mp status-cmos sensor is actually only 8 mp-explaining disappointing low light shots. although manual says you can manually adjust the iso-this is actually not available choice in camera settings menu-turns out my 2 kodak cameras actually have 10 mp cmos sensors-accounting for perceived better low light performance from these cameras ... show more
