I got a new Minn Kota Power Drive 2 years ago, and while it worked fine, the foot pedal control was awkward for me, and hard to make small adjustments. I don't get to boat/fish as often as I like, and it took me half a day each trip to get confident with the foot pedal. This wireless controller installed easily, about 15 min and a screwdriver is all that is needed. Worked great right away. Much easier to control direction and speed of the trolling motor with the handheld remote. I wish I had purchased this 2 years ago! Makes fishing much more enjoyable. works well anywhere in my 18' center console. Only issue I had was when a few passengers got between me and the motor it wouldn't respond, one step to my left and it worked. Can't speak to battery life on remote yet, just used it on one 4 day fishing trip so far, with no issues. The foot pedal stays in the boat for a backup, but I don't keep it plugged in. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Very straightforward to install. I found it difficult to use the foot control especially when trying to change the speed. Now I can use the trolling motor from any seat in my boat. I read the instructions and watched an install video. Very easy to install and get up and running. Great product and I was done in about 20 minutes because I went back over everything more than once. ... show more

I wish I could have just bought the motor with this already installed at a decent price!! With that being said...man Minn Kota could not have made this any easier. The directions were easy as pie. There are also tons of YT videos on the subject. For those like me that maybe cannot afford the ipilot then this is a great alternative. I really wanted the pedal steering then when I fould out I could add a remote and keep my pedal steering I was sold. I know those with ipilot lose the foot pedal unless you mod the control board. I myself do not need ipilot for my little boat, and I have found that using the remote in conjunction with the foot control gives me excellent control over my boat positioing. I am no longer fighting trying to fish with keeping my boat in proximity to my target. Absolutely Love It!! Installed this on a Powerdrive 50 last weekend. I haven't had a chance to test it on the water yet, but everything seemed to work just fine in the driveway. Easy install takes about 15 minutes. This is the CoPilot accessory for the new 2017 Powerdrive motors. The plugs will be different on the older motors. ... show more

The Copilot is very easy to install, took me about 15 min and it was done. On the water this thing is amazing. No more trying to use your foot when fishing. I was standing up in the front of the boat maneuvering through stumps with precision. I was also able to go from the front of the boat to the back of the boat and still maneuver the boat while fishing.
