I never bought a mini pc before and this was the first time. I needed another pc to do work on with a smaller footprint so I decided to look into mini pcs. I researched a littlebit and the reason I chose this was for the 780m and the io ports these suit my needs perfectly. It also looks really great. Minisforum customer service is top notch. I have been using it on and off since I had to travel. I was experiencing bsod and random restarts and I only really began using it after Amazon return deadline. So i decided to contact Minisforum customer service. Their customer service provided me a few fixes to try, but in the end none worked. They told me to send the pc with all the original parts back and they would send me a new one after they confirmed everything. I did just that and only only 2days later I recieved a brand new updated unit! This unit is perfect no more bsod and random restarts. I have my trust in Minisforum now. Will definitely purchase another mini pc from Minisforum in the future if I need to! ... show more

Got this a week ago. It is very fast and responsive but it would crash, freeze up, or reboot by itself without warning a few times a day (3 times already since this morning). I’m still trying to figure out whether it is a hardware issue or a software issue. I set it up as a dual boot Windows and Linux system (but I run Linux most of the time). I’ve invested a lot of time on it to install the software, so I hope it is not a hardware problem that I have to return it. Otherwise I love this little machine. Update: It is so unfortunate that I have to return it, after spending so much time trying to make it work. I’ve combed through the system log files to figure out what went wrong, but I’m unable to come up with a conclusion other than thinking that it is most likely a hardware issue. In just 5 days the computer had crashed more than 50 times. I’ve seen problems with Bluetooth and hard drive (most common), and the last time I witnessed that my screen flickered then emitted a high pitch noise that lasted a split second, but the computer continued to run until I shut it down. When I restarted the screen did not come up and the keyboard was frozen (cap lock would not respond). Then I did another hard shutdown, waited a few hours, but this time it restarted like normal. At this point I decided that the computer is hopeless so I wiped all personal info and reinstalled the system from scratch before requesting an Amazon return. First off, I had issues with WiFi (would randomly disconnect). I did some research and changing the MIMO Powersave mode to "No SMPS" fixed it. Completely fixed the random disconnects. So amazing to see that computer can be this small and this fast today. A few things to note: This is not a gaming powerhouse but a gaming super house. Most games it can handle but anything AAA or demanding will not run. Make sure to check before buying any games. The eGPU function should fix that but it's too bad. MAKE SURE to bring the UMA Frame Buffer Size up to 8gb. It will help with gaming. And change the power mode from Balanced to Performance in the bios as well. ... show more

I purchased 2 of these computers and for the most part they are great systems. My issue is that one of the computers developed an issue. Through working with customer support we think the hard drive my have failed. The problem is that they are currently giving me the impression of not being willing to replace it. The system is not even a year old and I initially saw the warranty was for 2 years but I now cannot find any information on the warranty it came with. The system is not even a year old and they are wanting me to find a spare hard drive to get the system running. They are not even addressing the replacement of the bad hard drive. UPDATE: I am being asked to provide a video of what is going on and they may at that point reimburse me for the cost of a new hard drive. How is this customer support? I have requested info on how to return the device for authorized repair since we all know this happen and I want them to be able to fix everything at once with the system instead of me finding out that there is more then a hard drive issue and have to go through all this again. ... show more

I'm very satisfied with the UM790 Pro and Minisforum support. It's a quality product and a powerful PC. I have it connected to my docking station with 100W power delivery and it works perfectly, its size is a very good advantage. It's not noisy, it's very similar to a laptop in that sense. Minisforum support through Amazon and email has been very responsive and kind, I find this very valuable. It would be nice to have one of the USBC 4 ports in the back, in my case I'm using it for power and data so it's connected all time. It also would be nice to have a monitoring application from Minisforum to keep track of temperatures and fan speed. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase and the plan is to get 4 units more. ... show more
