I bought multiple for a Disneyland trip. Although the sun was bearing down on us while we waited without any natural shade we used the umbrellas and my whole family was able to not get sunburned. We did supplement with sunscreen especially the exposed areas that are not covered with umbrella or clothing. use the umbrella, supplement with sunscreen, rehydrating along the entire day and you’ll definitely reduce skin damage while staying a bit cooler than those around you. Really hard to open. You have to push really hard to get it to lock in the open position. Seems kind of flimsy. Not an umbrella to use if it’s windy and raining. Okay for a light or gentle rain.
