For anyone looking to buy a cheap welder and feel skeptical about this, I would suggest buying it. Very good welder. Would suggest it for the price point. I would check you local Facebook to see if there’s maybe a cheap miller or even Chicago electric. But for the price it’s an amazing pickup!!

Very surprised that this tiny welder welds so well. The provided welding rod is not so good but will demonstrate the success of this machine. The heat was reduced to 200 amps after welding with the light duty welding rod but it was cherry red after a short bead, too hot even with reduced heat. No doubt, this welder will weld with 1/8" rod - with something like 6013... but 3/32 would be better. I'm impressed!

I have a 90amp mig welder i do most of my work with in the garage but i have an old trailer than i just cant seem to get enough heat into to get it to stick long term. its also a 40 year old trailer at this point so the metal is anything btut nice and clean. been wanting to try stick welding and well all i can say is it works and is pretty dang easy. did a much better job getting heat into the old contaminated impure metal and looks like the weld penetrated much much better. for old cruddy metal stick welding seems to be the move. overall very easy to use and setup. leads were nice and long. watched a 5 minute tutorial on stick welding andi picked it right up. for the price of this little unit im beyond impressed

My first impressions of this machine weren't great, as the box seemed previously opened, maybe a return. And the accessories are rough, the face mask is truly a piece of plastic you have to tape the goggle eyepieces onto, and can barely see. I highly recommend having your own welding helmet to use with this. And the gloves felt roughly made. The instruction manual is an unintelligible jumble that won't tell you at all how to use this. But you know what? The machine works excellently. After a few tries, I'm very impressed at the welds you can get with this. Since this offers a much higher temperature, metal bonds far more solidly and you can see the difference in how much it has melted. With the included rods, I've gotten far neater welds than I've ever had before, both with a torch or electric welder. This is pretty easy to use as long as you set up properly and ensure good contact. Since the temperature is higher and this has more power, you can weld continuous lines without it sticking. And even the gloves worked fine, for actual use. Considering the price, I'm amazed at the quality of the tool. Despite rough appearances and the cons mentioned, I would recommend this. The power is fantastic.
