My photos will add nothing to this (cannot go on the roof just yet). But a couple of things to know. This entire boot feels rather lightweight to me. The aluminum border at the bottom bends very easily (though it also bends back just as easily. Other boots I've seen have a large aluminum flange. I suppose this flange, even though it is a bit narrow will be fine if you are installing before the shingles and you use some type of sealant. The red silicone boot is also pretty thin - but that may in fact be sufficient if it is designed to stand up to the elements and heat for years. Right now, I cannot say that this will last that long. Be aware that, as the Seller shows, you have to cut this boot to fit the pipe. I would not suggest cutting a circle out. Instead, cut just an X then place the boot over the pipe that protrudes from the roof. This way the silicone will snugly fit around he pipe. Using a sealant is also advisable. Note: I would not suggest using this boot on top of a shingled roof. This is made to be installed and then covered over with shingles. ... show more

I will not be installing this for a few months yet when the weather is warmer and more stable and predictable than it is now, when I will be replacing the shingle roof on my house with painted Galvalume metal. So far, I have bought one like this one, along with two of a similar unit that have square instead of round mounting bases, and will have to buy several more vent seals for all the roof vents in my house. With that said, this unit is built of quality materials with excellent build quality. These vent seals should last for many years of exposure to extreme weather and temperatures, so I do not expect to be disappointed with my purchase. This roof pipe flashing is pliable rubber. The underneath side of the bottom ring of the rubber is ribbed and silicone can be used there for sealing and the top of this ring is pliable metal. There are accurate cut rings marked for various sizes of vent pipe (1/4" diameter to 5" diameter). A bit and screws are included in the package. I have ordered 2 of these boots now to go around a heated pipe, within 3 weeks both boots dry rotted and cracked. I bought a non heated boot from lowes and it is holding up much better.
