Instructions unclear, but it’s pretty straight forward due to simplicity. Doesn’t tell you HOW to apply to mortar to the bricks. Design could be better. They give laminated cardboard to put the house on but that makes for a lousy foundation. I’m being critical, though, I think this makes for a great gift and could be a lot of fun for the whole family to work on together. I worked on it with my son and we bickered a lot over it but that works for us. It felt like a real construction site. Great opportunity to get creative and the bricks are reusable, mortar is washable. Mortar is simple ingredients. My son still has his on display. If you spend 25$/day on BS anyway, I’d say why not skip the BS and get this instead just to try it out. Good value, wish there were more bricks and mortar though.

Okay, this is just cool. I know I got this intending for it to be for my son but I had such a great time with it that I ended up using it! I love the fact that everything, despite being kid sized, is actual brick and mortar style adhesive! It can get a little messy (who cares? lol) but it gives the user an idea of how brick and mortar houses are put together. Pretty hard to find that kind of experience outside of being involved in construction lol. That said, the quality and size of the block are very nice! It is pretty easy to put together as long as you follow the usage instructions! The mortar can be washed from the bricks after a good couple hours of soaking and then you can go back to reusing them if that's your thing! This set is awesome and well worth the money to anyone that wants to participate in STEM creation... kids and adults included.

This house building kit is one of the coolest building sets I have ever seen. Work with rel materials,learn the basics of brick laying and building, and have fun at the same time. The kit comes with everything you need: mini bricks, "cement", plastic windows and doors, a mini trowel and mixing bowl, and so much more! Everything is very nice, and so realistic looking. The instructions are easy to follow, and go step by to each layer of bricks so you can get the proper look and layout of the house. There are 19 steps in all, and to make it easier there is a cardboard base plate that outlines the first layer of bricks so you can be assured of proper placement. The "cement" does need to be made mixing water wirh the 2 included powders. The kit says ages 8+ which depending on your child's patience level and attention span is probably correct. Of course, adult supervision is a given, and additional guidance when needed throughout the process would be helpful. We haven't built it yet, as we are saving it back for a winter project. But, I am very impressed with the quality of the pieces, and am excited to see how it turns out.
