You have to have a full stick in the gun to make it work. As in, there must be an extra stick at the end pushing the existing one through the heating element. Once I figured that out, this thing works like a dream. Yes, it's small. Great! And it's cheap. Great!!! I used it to seal twenty boxes of something I needed to return. Far exceeded expectations. Love it. Does the job. It comes with a few glue sticks. If you have a big job you will need to buy more. I had small job so I still have some left. I recommend. I purchased the white ones. Made a pillbox hat with it. The your gun looks just like picture. The cord is a little small but I can love with that.

Honestly very pleasantly surprised by the quality & utility of this glue gun. I love the on/off switch. The stand actually works and I can flick it open or closed with the trigger finger of the hand holding the glue gun. It doesn't overheat the glue even after extended periods. It releases the glue in a much narrower, more controlled fashion the other glue guns I've used. I use hot glue as a sculpting medium as well as for its more traditional applications and this has made the processes easier for sure.

Works well. Purchased this to add in decorations to my jumping spider enclosure. I found the heat level to be good for the "crafting" I was doing. Came with several glue sticks, has an on and off function which I appreciate. The glue gun is pretty lightweight and easy to use.
