  • Great results from a compact machine
Color: Full Green
This handy, compact heat press does a super job with transferring my very detailed and vibrant sublimation images to both polyester satin and polyester poplin. I make miniatures for my doll collection, so the small footprint works well for many items. Always be sure to check and double-check for proper temperature and pressure selections for your desired materials before you begin. Reaching the target temp on the heat press only takes a few minutes, and once its there, you'll hear two quick beeps to let you know its ready for action. From what I can tell, the temperature stays true while in use and heats evenly without burning. I use a teflon sheet over my projects, while others may opt for butcher paper or parchment paper. So choose for yourself, but always use something just in case to protect your fabric, design, and this little heat press plate. When using a new fabric, even if it is the same type but a different brand, it is a good idea to test your recommended heat setting before working with your project. Always make sure that your pressing surface is clear of lint and debris and don't skip on using a heat pressing pad underneath. It is recommended that before taping down your sublimation image with heat tape, to spend 8-10 seconds just pressing or moving the heat press over the bare fabric to dry up any moisture that it may contain, which may not be obvious visually or to the touch. I never skip this step to give my images the best chance of transferring properly without smudging or any lessening in vibrancy. Keep your pressure even based on light, medium, or heavy in accordance with the fabric type, and slightly overlap if you need to press an adjoining section. Be very sure to get all of the edges of your image because this is where you would most likely have a faded appearance or empty spot on your project if you don't. It's ok to carefully check an edge or corner if you are unsure, but do not release the heat tape or otherwise move the paper or fabric, because lining everything back up is harder than you think. So don't risk wasting any of your materials. Simply be thorough and consistent. I cannot stress this enough, but always use a timer. I set my phone on a stand to the left of my pressing area, where I select a preset timer that I've made according to the fabric that I'm using. If you're like me and can get easily distracted or lost in thought as you press, you do not want to rely on counting in your head. Keep in mind that your sublimated image before pressing, will print looking faded and some colors may look like entirely different colors. But it's the magic in the heating process that will bring your image to life. Also remember that your image will be facing down and heat-taped on top of your fabric for the pressing process, so it's best to reverse the image before you print it. When I design an image, I save it facing in the intended direction. Like many others, it is in the printing setup that I reverse it. After selecting the box to reverse the image the first time, I save it and all other parameters as a preset. This way I don't have to think about what I need to set or worry that I may have forgotten to change or set something the next time. So if you save the reversing option into your preset, you'll never be disappointed when you remove the sublimation paper and find that your text and/or image have been pressed backwards on your project. In between pressings, if enough minutes have elapsed, this heat press will shut off automatically for safety and energy-saving purposes. But it will beep to notify you of this. Pressing the button for a few seconds wakes it up and it will reheat to your chosen temperature. I always check the display to be sure it's still at the correct temperature before using again, because sometimes in the midst of my multi-tasking, I either don't hear it or forget that the unit gave me the shutdown warning. So I find it best to visually check, just in case, so you're not pressing at the incorrect temperature or trying to use a unit that is turned off. Even if multiple days, weeks, whatever go by, it will remember your last setting, then heat itself to the target temperature when you finally turn it on. Of course you still have the option of choosing one of the other two settings. If you need to select a lower temperature, two quick presses of the button will send you to the next lowest setting. If that is level 2, L2 will appear. Repeat this if you need to go down to level 1 (L1). If you desire a higher temperature, then long-press and it will jump to the next selection which would be level 2 or 3 (L2 or L3) depending on your starting point. You may bobble this a few times, but you'll get it. As for the weight, I don't mind it at all. Being weighty helps with heat distribution, and flattening the fabric, but it also makes it feel like a quality product, in my opinion. Because of its compact size, I can leave it resting in its dock for convenience, and the cord is a length that I find just right for my setup. This is my first time having a heat press, so eventually I will add on a tabletop model for larger projects or to press multiple small projects at once. But for now, this portable heat press is doing a terrific job and is giving me a great stepping stone into the world of sublimation and heat pressing. ... show more

  • Perfect size, good temperature
Color: White Purple
This little heat press has been a life savor. I've always wanted a smaller one, but I couldn't justify the price point for the cricut brand. This works just as good as the cricut brand heat press, but at a better price. I love that I can buy it in purple to match my big heat press. It's small so I have been able to travel with it. It's cute so its always getting compliments when people see it. I've had it for a while now and it seems to be working as well as when I first got it. ... show more

  • Great iron for making hats
Color: Full Purple
Bought this for making vinyl transfer hats. It is awesome. I think it works better than the name brand one I have that is specifically for hats. I still use the hat mold. Short heat up time. Has temperature options. Hasn't let me down yet.
