I’m actually surprised that the quality and durability of these is better than expected. The flip lid is sturdy as well. We use these daily and I even drag them on our hardwoods to the laundry room without any damage to them or the floors. I love the way they look and how well made they are. The size is also perfect. I can fit a week worth of laundry (for 2 adults and a baby) in these easily. 5 Star for design and making my life happy but the 4 star is due to the fact that they are a little pricey for what you get. I tried a collapsible hamper before based solely on the reviews on Amazon. Eh... after tossing a shirt on it and watching the side collapse on me and the shirt fall back out one too many times, I got fed-up and picked up a rigid hamper. I could have got a $10 at a big box store but I went for one of these. I was happy with the size of them. They hold 2 loads worth of clothes in the wash machine. The lid works well. It can be tough to determine which side it opens from as there is no clear indication. Not really a deal breaker for me... just something of note. I was shopping for a hamper and I wanted it to look nice. So I thought it’d be cool to have a fabric hamper with bamboo frame? Never buy anything with bamboo. Darn thing lost its integrity in one week. I had to hang it on a towel rack to be able to use it at all. Not the aesthetic I was going for. Then I tried the foldable hampers which always look like they need pressing and also lean and tilt. So enough!, After looking at more hampers than I thought existed, I went with this plastic one in a light green. (Tired of white). It’s sturdy. It has some ventilation but I still let towels dry a bit before they go in the hamper. It does its job well. While $40 is a little steep, I know it’s going to last forever and the color won’t fade. It’s the right size and the attached lid that tilts in place with a recessed handle is a great feature. As much as a person can love a hamper, I do for this one.
