I didn't get this for kayaking. I thought it sounded like using this on my office chair would be a great way to offset the amount of time I spend each day in my office chair. I work from home and so I have a home office that I spend my days using. The chair I have is not terrible, but 6 to 8 hours sitting each day for work most chairs will make you question if you got the right chair to spend you day in or not. This cushion changes that and I would even say its worth getting one for office chair use even if you already think you have a pretty nice chair. I'll have a uncomfortable time sitting in my chair without this cushion now. Its really changed how I feel sitting all day for work. I still need to get up and exercise periodically, but I don't get sore and uncomfortable as quick now with this cushion. I have really put a lot of seat time in with this cushion in a pretty short amount of time and it has held up perfectly. The cushion returns to its original shape as soon as you get up off of it. It seems like it will hold up for a long useful life. I let it in the cover bag to use it and it doesn't stand out that way, but if you really wanted I'm sure you could also use it without the cover bag. Get one and try it out. I'm sure your seat will appreciate it too.

Overall, I think this is a good purchase if your butt gets uncomfortable while kayaking. It's winter so I haven't taken it out yet, but it certainly will decrease butt fatigue. It also is a good size for bigger booties and I like how the bottom is textured so it doesn't slip around as much. It also floats so if you tip you'll be able to find and retrieve it. I do have a couple things I don't like. First, I wish it was a bit softer. I was surprised by how firm it was. Again, it will help a lot with fatigue, but if it was a little softer it would be more comfortable. Second, it doesn't even try to be waterproof. The blue pad doesn't absorb water but the cover instantly does and for being such a thin material I'm surprised at how much water it holds. I wish they used a wicking material or something of that sort to help your butt stay a little dry at least. I would just use the pad but it's incredibly slippery when wet so that wouldn't work. Overall, if you need a pad I think this would be a good option but if it's not a big deal I think this just comes with some other problems so maybe keep looking.

There are few things that force me to end a kayaking outing. One of the most annoying is the battle between my bottom and the boat's frame. We begin our day at a respectful distance but as the day goes on, we gravitate toward one another until my tailbone inevitably concedes to the unforgiving frame. This seat has done a lot in shifting the advantage. It does give a bit more than I'd like. You sink into it without much resistance save what the filling requires without bursting open. But as far as affordable, breathable cushioning is concerned, this one works great.

I sleep on a GelFlex Polymer Grid mattress (you know the one; advertises by color) and love it. I also have a pillow; love it too. I am not certain what “GelFlex” is other than an elastic polymer that sure is comfortable. And when introduced, it was revolutionary. Now that it is on the market, the “aha moment” passes down to other manufacturers and other products. Sure, this is NOT the same color, and it doesn’t use trademarked terminology, but it sure looks similar – right? Not “GelFlex” but “mesh elastic gummy gel” sounds kinda-sorta the same? And that is my hope when I ordered this. Water is WAY too cold to kayak without cold-weather gear. That will wait until spring. For now, I have a seat cushion on my office chair. It is the perfect size. It is both firm (plenty of support) and conforming (you can sink in); a combination that is unachievable through any other foam-type padding.

This seat fits my fishing kayak well. The honeycomb foam supports very well and very evenly. The cover has plastic dots to resist sliding. This seat is broad enough to allow comfortable cushioning without worrying about sliding off the cushion while moving around. The cover is thin so will dry quickly if wet. My only concern is if the cover will be durable enough as it is thin. Only time will prove this. Overall, this seat will be vey useful for those long hours fishing from my kayak and definitely adds positively to my kayaking experience.

Not only is my favorite color blue, this is exactly what my Kayak needed. This in a heavy pad and it's thick. It's too cold right now to try it out fully, but it is soft to sit on. Its going to be nice when wet because the water won't be right against my skin. It is heavy enough not to move but still the silicone is another layer to keep it in place. Also if you shift your weight the pad goes right along with you. The bag is nice for storage but the zipper is not the best. It kept getting caught to begin with. I'm not sure if it was the way it was packed or if the zipper needed to be moved a few times. It seemed fine after I zipped it a few times. Now I will have to probably buy another for my husband, because he is jealous.

Good quality silicone honeycomb type seat cushion. I like the zippered cover for ease of cleaning. It has bumps on the bottom to grip surface. The cushion is thick enough and sturdy enough to give good cushion without being too bulky or heavy. I like the mounded design. Folds in half easily to store. Overall, a nice cushion that can be used for a lot of different seating.
