  • Great Tool and Best Torque and Value
So far I’m really impressed with this little tool. I was scriptural if any kind of powered ratchet having had terrible luck with air powered tools and most of the legacy electric tools being entirely too large. Cons: I will say that this tool is deceptively large. I expected the head to be comparable in size to anyone of my 3/8 drive torque wrenches; not the case. The head on this tool is probably 40% larger than my beefiest 3/8 torque wrench. That said, so far it has not proved to be problematic and I’ve been able to fish it in and out of some tight spaces. Pros: Compatible with all M12 batteries. It has incredible torque for such a small package. It is really easy to modulate speed and power with the paddle switch. It has great run time and is super durable. It also came with a rubber protector for the head (although it does effectively make the head even larger). As of the purchase date, you couldn’t beat the torque output of this tool in this size, so it is awesome. That said, it’s a ratchet and NOT a torque wrench, so don’t expect it to replace all of your torque wrenches. This is designed to drive and initially secure bolts, the torque wrench is for final torque and seating. The increased torque on this one allows you to use the tools power to draw surfaces together. I love having the ability to easily drive bolts more effectively one handed. This is a huge time saver when you have 3 inch bolts to drive in tight spaces. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Great power, great addition to the tool box
This is a great tool and love the fact that I can ratchet beyond what torque the tool provides. It gets into spots that are difficult to reach with my big gorilla arms. I was expecting it to be a little bit more compact, but I am happy with the power it provides. I did not expect it to break loose some valve cover bolts but it did the job perfectly. ... show more

  • worth it
i bought this because it makes an otherwise slow job faster. it's got good speed and nice power. like a fool i drove off on a test drive with it still on my roof and it fell and hit the road, inside its case. it tore a small hole through the corner of the satchel, but with the rubber boot installed that came in the package, the tool was in perfect working order. battery life is good. it's not magic, but i was able to use it off and on for a few hours and the job was done before the battery could run out of juice. there are bigger batteries for it, but you lose some working room. the boot seems to serve as a test of might. once you have turned a wrench enough times, you seem to be granted the strength to apply it. ... show more

  • expected a little more power out of unit.. ...
expected a little more power out of unit .... no really that much different than old design when it comes to power. much stronger though ... worth the money to buy one of these than the older model ... I have three of the older models because they would break so often that I needed a back up and a backup of my back up ... show more

  • Great Tool
This Milwaukee 3/8 ratchet sure has done a bunch of work already. I used it to change the shocks on my Tri-Glide Ultra and it sure helped. I use it all the time to loosen and tighten nuts all the time. The 1/4 inch adapter helps too when I just need some light torquing. The batter lasts a decent time and I have a battery charged just in case. ... show more

  • Best cordless tool I own!
This tool is great! I mostly use this tool when I am working on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner. A lot of tight spaces that this tool can still fit into with the benefit of cordless power. Sufficient power for tightening bolts, however sometimes does lack initial "breaking" power. In other words, I find that I must break loose a tightened bolt first with a socket or wrench, before the Milwaukee will work. Not a bad thing though, the benefits of this tool out way any minor setbacks it may have. Really like this tool, I highly recommend the M1 Fuel brushless version of this tool. ... show more

  • Promising, but Disappointing
Had this on my list for several months, and after doing a CV replacement I'm wishing I'd bought it a long time ago. Good amount of torque, good build quality. The only downside - it's a fairly heavy tool (IE, it's a lot heavier than it looks in a picture.) But if weight = quality internals, then it's a minor annoyance overall. 1/1/2020 Update: After a year with the M12 3/8 ratchet, I've come to feel differently about this tool. Pros: - In a pro auto shop, it's held up quite well and functions just as when new. Battery life is sufficient, if you charge the battery sensibly (mine usually lasts a day or two, and I have more than one battery of course.) Cons: - The weight of the tool is significant. I mentioned this in my original review, but it's something I've not gotten used to. It's overly heavy in a way that makes it cumbersome to use at times, when you're working in the close quarters of an engine bay. - Similarly, the size of the tool - especially the head - is far too large. There are simply too many times that I've found it too big to use in a space that I really needed the power function; conversely, when I *do* have room to use the tool - well, at this point I've also got enough room to use a standard ratchet (and pull it with more torque, with a tool that weighs 80% less.) - Finally, the "directional switch" on the head is nearly a fatal flaw because the trigger on the handle is one-way. If you inadvertendly pull a long fastener out and the tool "ends up" butting against a surface (say, a firewall or fender well) - you're simply stuck there, because you can't TOUCH the directional switch to make the tool put the fastener back IN slightly to get the tool of the head. Similarly, you can't pull a "reverse trigger" to get yourself out of trouble. Certainly this is on the operator to stay out of this potential trouble, but somethings it happens. And a 2-way switch on the handle (instead of a directional switch on the head) would be 1000% better. In the end, this is a tool that I rarely reach for now... and when I do, it's with reluctance. If you're spinning 20 bolts off a cover and have plenty of room to work, it's convenient. But for most other tasks, it's heavy, unweildy, large and a potential pain in the ***. ... show more

  • A wonderful addition to a tool kit
This is truly a great tool. Best of both worlds: use it as a (manual) ratchet or a power tool -- choice is yours. The best part is the compactness which allows it to reach tight spaces when working on cars. I bought the 1/4" (2526) as well.
