This tool has become a go-to in my tool chest. It is not an everyday or every situation type tool, though. There are plenty of applications where I will reach for my compact impact driver over this just for speed. That said, if you need control and/or finesse with tightening a fastener and don’t want to spend minutes using a hand cranked ratchet, this thing will save you loads of time. Big picture, I like this so much that I bought all three sizes and a packout case to hold them. Pros: very durable and impact resistant. Came with a 2.0 ah battery but bought a couple 3.0 ah batteries that are the same size. Battery life has been fantastic, and control is awesome with the variable speed trigger. It has more torque than I expected or need (THIS IS NOT A TORQUE WRENCH THOUGH). It will do on the order of 60 ft lbs consistently (But remember, if you need a torque wrench, buy a torque wrench...this is a ratchet). The depth of the head is pretty shallow considering the size and heft of the tool. Cons: She’s heavy. If you’re laying on your back, under a car and holding this over your head, definitely move your face out of the drop zone. The throat and body are bigger than some of the comparable air tools I have and the throat is made bigger if you wrap it in the rubber protector. Not a game changer, but definitely something to consider. It’s also fairly loud for an electric tool. It’s quieter than any air tool I have but it’s still louder than my impact driver. You won’t need hearing protection but I definitely wouldn’t use this in my driveway at 9pm. Bottom Line: it’s a really great tool and prefect for all those hard to reach, knuckle-busting nooks and crannies in your car, truck, boat, trailer, or airplane. I liked it so much I bough all 3 sizes. But if you want unadulterated speed, don’t get rid of your impact driver with socket attachment. ... show more

This ratchet is amazing. When I change out the backhoe for the three point on my tractor, I do not take a step toward the tractor without this tool in my hand. Some of the attachment bolts for the three point are behind and in close proximity to the rear tires. Does the term “ not Fat Boy friendly “ have a meaning in your life?? Like the other Milwaukee tools these are very good. The ratcheting mechanism is a little weird. When I first got them I tried holding it by hand and it would just operate but the anvil didn’t rotate. Turns out it needs a solidly head fastener to work properly. After using on actual bolts it works as it should. It has good power, almost too much as I’ve twisted a bolt head off with it. Gotta watch it a little bit when tightening things. Make sure you buy a rubber boot to protect your tools. ... show more

I have been a fan of the M12 series of tools since they first appeared. I believe that they offer the best combination of price, size, and, utility of any tool series, even including the M18. This M12 fuel ratchet is a useful member of the family with a lot of torque for its small size equal to 60 ft-lb. It has enough torque to wring the head off a 5/16 in bolt if you are not paying attention. I like that its compact size allows using it in close in areas such as within a tight engine compartment without room to turn a standard socket to remove stubborn bolts. Was choosing between this ratchet, high speed version, extended reach version, and the right angle impact wrench. After going through reviews, decide to go for this ratchet. Decent power for a ratchet with the option of manual wrenching. Speed is not fast which is fine with me as it is more controllable. Look for something else if speed is a major consideration. Definitely got more uses compare to the right angle impact wrench. Already own the M12 Stubby and the ratchet complement it. Only complain is it quite bulky and on the heavy side.
