  • Make certain to get the new design model 48-11-2131.
I have three of the model 2110-20 700 lumen flashlights. The first one was given to me because of the position I held at the company and a few flashlights were thrown in with a six figure order of tools. I found it to be a great flashlight and I bought two for myself off of Amazon. Now to be clear because it seems that some were sold with other lower quality batteries for some reason. All of them I have come with the best Milwaukee batteries which lasted about two years. Now this is where it gets insane. I have the third flashlight because at the time it only cost five or six more dollars to buy a completely new flashlight with battery than it cost to buy a battery alone. A battery cost over $50 and the new flashlight cost less than $60. Now they want $50 to $55 for a battery and $150 for a flashlight. Both are insane and a waste of money. I bought a model 2110-20 700 lumen flashlights from Amazon on 08-27-2020 and paid $57 for it. They wanted over $50 for a battery and I refused to pay as much for a battery as I could buy a new flashlight for. I don’t care what kind of logistics problems they have getting them here from China. They can’t triple the price because they are worth what they are worth and the flashlight is not worth $150. Now as for the problems that some people have had with the batteries not lasting or holding a charge those batteries had a part number of 48-11-2130 and they improved the design of the battery and the new part number that you want is 48-11-2131. So the first thing you need to do if you buy a new battery before you even open it is to check the part number and make certain that they are not trying to cheat you by selling you a battery of the old design which are still on shelves in some warehouses. So I tell you what I am going to do. I am going to buy a pair of the replacement batteries that only cost $25 for two batteries and test them. I will tell you a secret about batteries that you might find hard to believe. If you want to buy rechargeable batteries that are the very best you can get then simply buy the Amazon brand because not only are they well priced they are twice the quality of some very expensive name brands and my battery case proves it. It is impossible for a rechargeable battery to reach voltage due to the design of rechargeable batteries. However the closer they come to voltage the better the quality of the battery is. Some rechargeable battery designs are better than others but none of them can ever reach common voltage for the battery of its size. Now by going to the much less expensive battery I will be dropping from 3000 MA down to 2000 MA and 2.4 volts but I seriously doubt that it will make any difference in a normal work day and you will have two batteries to work with if you have an extreme day. However I would recommend that you remove or change the battery as little as possible. You want to always simply twist the flashlight to expose the USB port and connect to it to charge. You want to have to completely unscrew the end off of the flashlight to remove the battery holder and battery as few times as possible. So if you use the flashlight for over 4 hours continuously without any chance to recharge then it is worth the cost to pay over $50 for a 3000 MA battery that is 4 volts from Milwaukee because you have a special need that most people don’t have. However I can’t stress enough that you want to use the USB port to recharge and not take the flashlight apart. There is enough problems with them just untwisting them to expose the USB port to charge. Now I want to be clear that you are not going to have 700 lumens with the cheaper battery that is 2.4 volts verses the battery that has 4 volts but the question quickly becomes do you truly need 700 lumens for what you are doing? In over 75% of cases the answer is no. I certainly have bought my last flashlight because I didn’t even pay $150 for my 500 lumen light with green laser that they tell me will put a dot on the side of a building a mile away. I only need to use that green dot up to 75 yards at most. I was born but not yesterday. A 700 lumen flashlight would be very useful in certain situations but you can do much better for $150. I like mine and at $57 and I considered them expensive for what they can do at that price. However at $150 I just consider that a fool and his money being quickly parted. I bought a Milwaukee battery model 48-11-2131 on 10-30-22 and I paid $27.66 for it. I would explain it all to you but Amazon would lose their mind if I did and I am sure delete everything I have said and I don’t want that because hopefully a few people will research further based on what I have said. I normally just let it go but this time I am not going to because I am too knowledgeable on the situation and I don’t want good people to waste their money that they worked hard for when they can get what they need for far less money. The best thing about the flashlight is that they come with a really nice USB cable and I put one of them in my truck so I can charge my three flashlights even if the power goes off when I need them most. They are also very bright for a flashlight so small and they are the perfect size to wrap your hand around if you need to so you don’t hurt your hand. ... show more
