  • Small powerhouse, time saving in many ways
For under $100 you get a tiny powerhouse. It is unbelievable how fast and effortlessly this drill can pound in long lagbolts. Also you can cycle speeds between 1-3 for slow to fast to allow better control for certain applications. There is also a 4th mode that stops the drill when the screw head gets to the surface even if your finger is still holding the trigger. When i first got it i did not know how to change it out of this mode which was irritated because it would stop prematurely for longer screw however in certain applications like putting roofing screws in with the rubber seals it will save you from overtightenimg them. The button to cycle modes is above the mode light by where the batteries clip on the tool. Also, it is so easy to put bits in compared to my old milwaukee impact driver because you dont have to slide the chuck forward to slide a bit in you just press it in and it grabs it. I use this gun daily, it is an excellent tool. ... show more

  • Great impact driver, could be slower and more gentle.
This impact driver is likely the most powerful on the market but that has come with its own problems such as phillips bits snapping more often and socket adapters as well. Also there's a problem that Milwaukee might recall but the collet will fail and bits will not stay in anymore, bits will literally fall out. I sent mine in under the 5 year warranty and they sent me 2 brand new ones (2863-20). Probably best to stick to an impact wrench if you want torque for your sockets. Overall a pretty good tool and I think Milwaukee is aware of the collet problem. ... show more

  • Great Impact Driver for those weekend mechanics...
I purchased this Milwaukee 2853-20 impact driver for the purpose of hanging a small patch of wood siding and for doing an occasional upkeep and repairs on my cars. This impact driver which is rated at 166 ft-lb of tightening torque took off the lug nuts from my car quite easily and very quickly. Did my tire rotation in a few minutes which gives me more time to enjoy my weekend. I'm very impressed with its construction as well. Solid rubber protected cast aluminum nose, body is hard plastic and the handle is of soft non-slip rubber. It's weigh is around 3.4 lbs with the battery which is comfortable weight to carry around. I highly recommend this tool for the weekend mechanic and home repair projects. ... show more

  • This thing is deceivingly powerful!
I run lots of different kinds of fasteners all day, many into steel tube 1/8" thick wall and some thinner this gun will not hesitate to push that faster THROUGH the tube if i let it,i have broken MANY fasteners because i didn't use the lower settings on the gun.it has out performed any of the pneumatic screw guns i have used.Guys at work get annoyed with me for making them look bad while they are using air guns.if you put one of milwaukees high output 6 AH or higher batteries on this beast hold on to your butts!I am seeing people say the gun makes bits jump out of the head of the screw, that is not the fault of the gun it's jumping out because your bit is worn out or you have a bad head on the fastener.I can speak with a lot of certainty because i use many many different kinds of fasteners and bits all day every day.I have had the same things happen they are talking about and have always found if i change the fastener or bit it solves it. ... show more

  • Love it
Use all the time, like the more compact size compared to brushed model.

  • Great Tool
There are different torque drivers that Milwaukee makes, so pay attention to that. This is a higher torque, so it should cost more. This was the best price I could find that was not reconditioned. Very powerful. It does not come with a battery, but buy 2 batteries so you always have a fresh one on the job. Batteries have great life! They fit a bunch of different tools, so buy the tools that you need and you will be very satisfied. M18 Fuel is all you need for power on any job. ... show more

  • Does What I Expect
Can't say anything bad about it. It's survived plenty of drops, rain, and chemical plants. The only bad thing I could say is I wish the hammer/anvil sounded more like an impact wrench. I'm used to M18 impact wrenches coming from the mechanical field, but the electrical field I'm in now doesn't need that much torque usually. The only thing is that the lighter hammer in this driver will reallyyy make your ear ring when trying to get out a stuck 3/8" bolt, especially in some metal clad switchgear. Whereas a an impact wrench is a lower tone that doesn't make the ears cry mum. But what can I say, that's a nitpick. All around a decent tool. Takes a beating, the batteries in the 3 to 6aH range balance it nicely for vertical orientation, and it does what I need. ... show more

  • It is a Milwaukee
What can I say, it is a Milwaukee.I had bought one (older version and have it for a long time ) before for myself (HVAC ) and I bought this one for my other job .Very compact, ergonomic , nice push in chuck or whatever it is called.Smart idea do be able to just push the drives in it and only when you have to remove it you have pull the chuck back to release the tool.It is very efficient and the battery lasts .Beware ,it doesn't come with a battery! ... show more
