  • Great product.
Great lift. It took 16 days to deliver. It shipped via LTL freight. ABF then transferred to Magnum LTL. Showed up in good shape in 2 we’ll packaged boxes. Pretty easy to put together but takes some time. Took me about an hour to put it together because I’m very picky and wanted it put together perfectly. I bought this lift because my neighbor has the same one that I’ve borrowed and it’s fantastic. It goes sky high and has lots of reach. It rolls very nicely even with and engine on and a cracked old driveway. It also folds up very nicely. Folded up it takes up maybe a 2’ x 2’ square on the floor and is about 5 feet tall. The legs are spread nice and wide up front, plenty wide enough to roll my Jegs engine stand in without issue. Overall it’s a great product. It’s pricey, but when you’ve got $5,000+ swinging from a chain, you want a good/safe lift. ... show more

  • Quality hoist. Easy to operate.
The Hoist took a while to assemble but Worked great in removing an engine from my Corvette. The extra lift size easily handled the weight of the engine and had good mobility.

  • I like it
I ordered this shop crane (Engine Hoist) on December 6. I started tracking it because I wanted to be sure to be here when it arrives. It was shipped with South East Freight. Every day it would be updated with another “Package arrived at carrier facility”. There was no information about what state it was in, or when it would be out for delivery. On December 20 it was delivered. I was able to have it unloaded at my shop doors. The driver told me he had tried to deliver it a week earlier. I was not there early enough that day, so I missed it. I am glad he didn’t leave it at the gate because it is two very heavy packages and it would have been very difficult for me to move it from the gate to the shop. There was a week of extreme weather and it was too cold to assemble it. It was warm on December 30. I assembled it in about an hour. It went very well. There were no problems such as misaligned holes. Most of the bolts were already in place, which also helped. But then I found there were two missing bolt/nut/washers. These were literally the last two I needed to complete assembly. One attaches the top of the hydraulic cylinder to the boom, and the other holds the slide-in boom extension in the various holes that have different weight limits. I wrote the Amazon seller Northern Tool and Equipment, the night of January 30. But it was a holiday weekend. They contacted me on January 2. They told me to contact the manufacturer, Torin, Inc., and gave me the Telephone number. Torin was back from holiday on January 3. They first had me send them proof of purchase. I had told them I only needed two nuts, bolts and washers. They told me they could only send me the parts kit. They asked for my mailing address. Then they told me this is out of stock and they must get it from China where it is made. They told me it would take “8 to 10 weeks or longer”. I asked them to send the parts as soon as possible and if they could tell me Amazon part numbers for substitutions. They did not respond. I really need to use the lift ASAP, so on the night of January 3 I ordered the nuts, bolts, and washers I need, I hope. I had found a description of the sizes of what I need in the back of the manual. It does not tell me the grade I need, nor how much is threaded and how much is not. All I knew is that one bolt is M16 x 90, and the other M16 x 80(10.9). I don’t know what the 10.9 means. These bolts on Amazon, which were available in small quantities, had other numbers such as 1.5, or 2. I don’t know what these mean either. You can’t buy just one of theses bolts on Amazon. And they are expensive. I spent $91.80 to be able to use the lift sooner. Still, I have to wait. There is no place locally to buy such large hardware. One bolt is supposed to arrive on the January 9. The other January 19. The washers say “on the way”. The nuts are supposed to arrive January 10. Hopefully I will have two usable bolts, nuts and washers by January 10. I can replace it with the correct hardware when it arrives, and have some extra hardware for my shop. Meanwhile the lift looks good. It seems solid and rolls around easily. The finish on the parts seems durable. On January 6 I received a bag of washers, and five M-16 x 2 x 90 bolts. The nuts are supposed to arrive in 3 days. I received an e-mail from Torin today saying there are two versions of the lift and asking me to send them a picture. I will send them a picture and then try to finish setting up the lift using just the bolts I now have. In fact I did just that. I put just two of the bolts I received into the lift and it is usable now. I need to do the air purge procedure for the hydraulic cylinder before I can use it and I didn’t have time today. I did attach the engine leveler. It looks good and is missing no parts. It was self-level out of the box. Once I do that I will use it to lift a metal cut-off saw so I can attach the legs and use it. On January 9 I received the two nuts I ordered. They do not fit the bolts. I purged the hydraulic pump. The instructions talk about pushing the oil plug to the side to let the air out. It was a bolt. I used the crane to lift a metal cut off saw so I could attach the legs. It worked very well for this. The saw wasn’t very heavy. I can’t feel any resistance from the cylinder when pumping. But up it goes, slowly. I found the problem with the nuts. They have a 1mm pitch. The bolts have a 2mm pitch. I ordered two in 2mm pitch. There goes another $6.80. It says they will be here February 2 to 24. I folded up the crane today. It found nothing about fold-up in the instructions. So I looked on Amazon and there is a picture of the crane folded up. In the picture the boom is fully extended. I think it is better to fully retract it so the hook doesn’t drag on the floor. It was a bit difficult to remove one of the two pins. It was necessary to lift with a shovel at the mid wheels, which don’t touch the floor when the legs are locked down. Then the pin came out easily. The picture on Amazon shows the pins which were removed to put the legs up, stored back through the same holes. You should put them through the other hole so it lines up with the hole in the “Guide Plates”. The pin through the guide plates holds the legs up preventing them from falling. Folded up, the crane is easy to move about and easily wheeled through a narrow doorway. When I sent the pictures I asked them to write me back to let me know they got them and if they are sufficient. I hadn’t heard from them, so I wrote them the evening of January 10. On the 11th I heard from Torin. They received the pictures and will let me know when the parts arrive. On January 15 I received the two shorter bolts I ordered. On May 10 I received a bag of parts. It included the two bolts, washers and nuts I needed. I think it had all the bolts, nuts and washers needed to assemble the hoist. There were 12 bolts, 12 nuts, 12 washers, 2 pins and clips, 2 small bags of small parts, and the hook and chain. I immediately did the final assembly with the two nut-bolt-washers. I am happy. And I have hardware for my hardware collection. ... show more

  • It's a lift!
Decent price, good quality, no missing hardware. Boxes are super heavy, delivered by freight. The freight company, Yellow, dorked up the shipping/delivery quite badly. But, I got it eventually... Good product. Took about an hour to assemble. You're dealing with large nuts and bolts and heavy stuff. But, my opinion is; if you can't put this thing together you shouldn't be using it! ;) folds up nicely for storing. Oh, the leveler that comes with it is priceless for certain jobs. The plastic knob on the handle sucks though. I will be fabricating something strong to replace it. ... show more

  • Bolts don't line up, holes are not drilled right.
Would not recommend. Also, the shipping is crazy!

  • Easy to use!
Heavy duty and easy to use. Assembly is a bit nerve racking, but well worth the time invested. A must have for any garage, well built. Great buy!

  • I really want to like this product
All in all it seems like a good product, and I would’ve given it five stars however, it came missing washers and lock washers as well as a nut for one of the bolts. I went down to my local hardware store and got some. But if I had not, the supply hardware would not have made a safe assembly.

  • Love it
