Bought as a replacement for my Milwaukee ratcheting 3/8. I had bought a newer Milwaukee 1/4 ratcheting wrench. To replace an older Milwaukee 1/4 and noticed the RPMs were higher and had more breaking torque. I figured since this was classified as right angle impact and not a ratcheting wrench, I would have similar results that I had with my 1/4. The main selling point is the 200 ft/ibs breaking torque. I didn't believe it at first and thought the most this 12v battery powered impact with a relatively small battery pack if 6 amp hours would at most net me 50 ft/ibs breakaway. The video posted with this review shows that this impact can at least break away 120 ft/ibs no problem (at full charge). I was blown away. I've had older Milwaukee 1/2 impacts that couldn't break slightly corroded lugs on passenger wheels brand new and that one was rated 500 ft/ibs and had a similar battery life as the smaller batteries. I've used the impact to tighten some things. The tightening/loosening settings goes from 1-3 then one last setting for continuous torque. One of the selling points was that the impact can sense when you are at 15 ft/ibs and quit tightening to avoid over torquing. At setting 1, it felt like it doesn't quite get to 10 ft/ibs and at 3 I definitely got over 15 ft/ibs. Haven't really verified what exactly each setting goes to, but as with any power tool, you are responsible for the result. I always go over the bolt/fastner with hand tools to verify. 5/5 right now I couldn't recommend this tool enough. I still will need to see the longevity of the tool and will need to test it out on gasoline engine headstuds to see further viability of the tool. I still see this as my everyday tool.

I've had this right angle impact on my list for a while. Just had to replace the starter on my truck, and this came in handy to remove the transmission support bracket as was required to access the starter bolts. Dealing with stuck rusty fasteners in tight places is never fun and can easily make a 45 minute job turn into a several hour job. The 3 bolts I had to remove were installed with red loctite from the factory, and also had 6 years of road salt eating away at them. Given how everything was set up, there was no way I could have gotten a standard impact on these, even the Milwaukee M12 stubby. I was able to get onto these fasteners with the M12 right angle impact and broke them free with no trouble. Doing those by hand would have been a pain and would have added a lot of extra time onto this job, so I'm glad I thought ahead and ordered this for the job. This impact is FAST. On the highest setting, it will buzz fasteners off faster than you can keep up with. The forward/reverse button is located in a great place next to the trigger, so it's easy to access in tight places. I have a couple M12 ratchets so I was on the fence about this. If you are often dealing with stuck fasteners in tight places, do not hesitate to buy this tool. I can tell this will quickly become one of my favorites. Great job Milwaukee!

I ordered this after seeing it online because I wanted a tool for the cramped areas around our family minivan. As a stay-at-home mom, I try to fit small jobs in between school runs. When my husband and I worked on a bracket under the hood, the head looked compact in photos but felt chunkier in that space than I expected. I had to reposition it several times, and it was awkward to hold overhead. It did turn the fastener once I found a good angle, but getting into place took more effort than I planned. I’m glad we have it for occasional repairs, though I’m disappointed it wasn’t as nimble as the online clips made it seem.

Have been impressed with Milwaukee tools- up until this one. I own the 3/8 and 1/4 cordless 12V ratchets, and have been pleased with the speed, torque, and compact size. I use them every day as an auto technician, and they have impressed me with their quality and utility. However, either I have a defect with this model, or the 220 lb/ft rating is innaccurate. I have had less than a 50% success rate breaking loose 8mm bolts with this tool- bolts that the torque spec is less (often far less) than 100 lb/ft. Far too often, I attempt to remove such a bolt, only to have to set the tool down, break it loose with a hand ratchet, then finish removing the bolt by putting down the hand ratchet and re-employing the "220 lb/ft" ratchet to spin it out. Time is money when making a living working on auto- I save time by simply breaking the bolts loose by hand, then picking up my non-impact 3/8 ratchet to use- leaving the "220 lb/ft" ratchet in the drawer. Not what I bought it for... Update- twice in the past 2 days, I have used this ratchet with the following results: -on a rusted, blue loc-tited 10 mm sway-bar bushing bracket bolt, and a corroded 8 mm bolt into an aluminum engine block. The impact wrench would run for 3 seconds while turning the bolt about 1 1/2 turns, then stop. Battery indicator lights would flash for a few seconds. Repeated 2 attempts to turn the bolt- same "stop-flash" results. I then picked up my 2457-20 M12 ratchet- rated at only 35 ft-lbs- and spun those bolts out the rest of the way. No stopping or flashing battery lights...
