  • A Good 12V Drill
This is an excellent drill. I have had this drill for a couple of weeks and have drilled quite a few holes with it. It's light weight and has plenty of power. Great chuck holds drills tight with no runout. Finally, the manufacturers are using a common system based around the same battery pack. I purchased a the Milwaukee 12V light also. It is very powerful. Thinking the next purchase might be the 12V sawsall. Pro's: - Well built and light weight - Well balanced and fits in my hand nicely - LED's let you know how much charge is in a battery - Universal battery design shared across multiple 12V tools - Good strong chuck - Seems to charge quickly Con's - Little LED work light stays on when you are done drilling. It would be nice if the LED light could be controlled by a partial pull of the trigger instead. I feel like the battery is draining unnecessarily. ... show more

  • Works Great
Hard to go wrong with a Milwaukee product unless you just get a lemon. Have used it regularly for a year or 2 with no issues.

  • Great drill with plenty of power
This is a great drill with plenty of power. I got this to replace an impact drill of another brand that I have had for about 4 years and is still working. I really needed something that had more power for work and was small enough to fit in my tool bag. It is also nice and light. This drill has lots of power and I love the battery gauge on the side so I am never caught off guard with it stopping halfway through a job. The hard plastic case was nice but was not something I needed because the drill stays in my tool bag. The 2 speeds is a nice feature. I mostly keep it on high speed to make my jobs quicker and switch to low for more power. ... show more

  • Most powerful 12volter I have ever used
This little guy means business. Its not wimpy despite its low voltage. I think they make the power up in gearing and quality at that (which means you will lack the higher speeds, in high-speed) but it has some torque to it which is often unheard of for its size. Compact, easy to carry, easy to store and was a serious upgrade for the wife. She likes me to deal with the outside chores and such but she enjoys building shelves, small tables and fixing up things inside the house, herself -- and now she is completely happy and looks for chances to use her new drill. Pros: - Powerful - Compact - Easy to operate - LED is a bonus - Battery indicator on-drill Cons: - Well-made comes with 'weight', its not as light to carry or handle as those lesser models (comes with territory) - Batteries are not the easiest to remove. You have to squeeze the two tabs and really pull Neutral: - Not good for hours or all-day work or industrial use - While battery life is less than we might enjoy, such is too its small size and being compact. One can't put 10 gallons of water in a 5 gallon bucket; so I am placing battery life as a Neutral comment. - Its good for what its good for and does it well. If you have a heavier use requirement, get the bigger model. But if you just need a once-in-a-while drill or just need something quick to run do a few small tasks, this guy is more than perfect and you can appreciate its capabilities. highly recommended -- based on own use case; it suits us well as a 2nd drill. If the drill ever expires itself, we would buy again if we had the money. ... show more

  • Looking Good So Far
Update - July 7/15 Still "living the dream" with this drill! I smile every time I pick it up and use it. No complaints at all - just a strong recommendation to get one if you need a cordless drill. It has been a real workhorse in my home workshop and around the house. The second battery pack is a great addition as long as you remember to charge one up ! I bought this to replace a 20+ year old Makita 7.2 NiCd cordless drill that was shot and the trigger used to jam ON (you can imagine how that worked out on fine woodworking projects when assembling them). Anyway, I did some on line research and this one seemed to come up as the clear leader. Metal chuck and a serious warranty probably means I won't have to worry. One thing that I didn't like - but it's just me - is the little belt clip - it can be attached to either side of the drill, but for me, I would be afraid that it would start scratching/marring the surface of whatever I lay the drill on when assembling something. I am not a contractor, just a home woodworking shop guy, and I tend to build "fine" things rather than construction things. Anyway, it's no big deal, the belt clip is held on with a real screw into a real brass insert and you can just remove it if you have the same concerns as I did. Extra battery means that I will never be waiting for a charge too. ... show more

  • Exactly what I needed
Growing up with a carpenter for a dad I got familiar with tools early in my age. This obviously isn’t the top of the food chain when it comes to drills, but for easy things around the condo it’s great. I feel like anything major I would need to upgrade but almost anyone can use this drill and be comfortable with it. I will say the grip feels a little small and I don’t have large oversized hands I think with a larger battery there should be sufficient handle to work with. ... show more

  • After searching and searching, this is the dream drill!
I did a lot of research to find this drill. I needed a lightweight, smooth, powerful drill. While this certainly isn't as powerful as a 20V drill, it works very well! I've been able to drill holes into concrete planters, and I use this everyday to drill hundreds of tiny holes using a 55 drill bit. Very hand friendly, and so far seems to be well built. I returned my 12V Dewalt after a nightmare experience- the quality was APPALLING. I then tried out a 12V Makita since I love the 14.4V Makita I've borrowed in the past- unfortunately the quality has gone so far down over the years, and I returned it immediately. This drill is a winner! The best part of all is the electric brake. It is smooth; there is no clang or jarring motion. You won't regret buying this! ... show more
