I wanted a black fixture to tie in with some art work that’s not pictured. I like that this fixture is wide, but has nice lines. Covers a nice amount of space. For me another reason was the coverage that the pendant cover provides. Others were smaller like 4” in diameter and I was not sure if it would cover the existing hole in the wall. This one does perfectly. It did arrive slightly scratched in some areas but a black sharpie did the job. I did not want to bother with shipping back for a minor imperfection. Cost less than home improvement stores. Is light weight and as a female installer (non professional) I was able to do it. Looks great over the table my great grandfather made by hand over 100 years ago. I am waiting for my Amazon bulbs. ... show more

This is a very pretty light. I put it together by myself with my son. The directions aren’t the best, however. The first light took awhile to put together. The second one took less time because I didn’t follow the directions by putting the bottom round section with the round knob on first. After you put the arms on go ahead and put the wires through the long tube first and then put the bottom on because you can hold the top tube section to help hold the bottom in place to tighten the knob. Hope this makes sense. So do step three before you do step 2. I am a single woman and I did this with help from my 10 year old son. ... show more

The bolt at the bottom that holds the base to the down rod has very weak and thin threading and does not easily connect or hold a tight secure fit. The base does not sit level and tilts as a result. When assembling the unit, the threads in the down rod stripped off and with just a few hand turns, now the base falls. Do not recommend this product. ... show more
