First of all I’m gonna say it…I was scared when I first opened up the box & vacuum pack & saw a thin, limp & lifeless pillow, but knowledge & patience served me well! I worked the clumped together memory foam apart (it’s actually sort of satisfying once you get the knack for it), & now I have an amazing pillow only a few hours later. I’m mostly using this as a comfortable way to nurse in bed & on the couch, & prevent my posture from getting slouchy & my back from hurting. Let me tell you, it’s a complete game changer, & I’m saying that after just one use! Had I known better I would’ve put this on my registry with my previous child! Don’t let the negative reviews dissuade you from this item if you want a comfortable back rest with the arms. What I’ve noticed from all of those reviews is that they come from people that just didn’t bother to read & follow instructions. If you simply pull this pillow out of the box & vacuum pack & expect it to be at its full potential immediately, you’ll be massively disappointed. It really doesn’t take a lot of work, & it’s an amazing back rest! With this being memory foam it sits up better on its own than any other standard batting filled pillow that I’ve ever owned & has a satisfying heaviness to it that makes it so stable. The other thing I enjoy about this pillow is it’s super soft removable cover…it’s very comfy, & with 2 dogs & 2 young sons I need something I can throw in the washing machine & wash properly, & not just spot clean. One use & you’ll be saying “just take my money!”…let me assure you, you won’t regret buying this back rest pillow.

I took the time to read reviews, so when my pillow arrived I unwrapped it, and removed the outer cover, then placed it in my closet for two days to airate and puff up to full-size undisturbed. Then I replaced the cover and set it on my bed. For me, the stuffing is perfect, no need to add any extra and I haven't removed any. I like the option of being able to do both. There was no extra padding included in my package which I was grateful for because I wouldn't have needed it or had a place to store it. The instructions said I could have placed the pillow into my dryer on fluff for 10 minutes to reconstitute it. (if I had wanted to ) also a recommendation from the manufacturer if it needs re-fluffing after use. This pillow is soft to the touch, and feels soft against my back while also being firm and supportive. I place it against the wall at the head of my bed and lean against it comfortably. I have also used it on my couch as additional back support and it works great there also. I am under 5' tall so sitting on most couches is uncomfortable unless I sit Indian style or with my feet tucked in under me. This pillow allows me to sit comfortably with my feet flat on the floor or proped up on the ottoman without having to slouch to do so. I like that I can take the stuffing out of the inner cover and soak (hand wash... not machine wash) the inner cover if it gets soiled, and then restuff it when dry. The removable outter cover is machine washable which is nice. I am guessing the stuffing could be machine washed/dried on gental cycle seperaterly after being placed in a mesh bag. I will probably give it a try at some point due to todlers and cats living in my home not to mention my own clumbsiness. I have had other backrest pillows (TV pillows) before they were supportive and firm, but hard and heavy, and machine washing was not recommended. Although I did machine wash them when they became soiled (had to or throw out). They always threw my machine out of balance and took forever to dry. This pillow is a true upgrade with major convenience factors. I highly recommend this pillow.

I am 5'7 and and overweight....this is perfect. I am quite a fan of true memory foam as I have fibromyalgia and arthritis and copd. The crate foam from walmart I used to purchase was a waste of money....and gave little to no comfort. Real nasa memory foam is what the Us astronauts have in their space ships which it was originally designed for as they are in small quarters for quite a time so need to relieve their muscles and avoid as much pain as possible. I also so sometimes need a little height my pillows cannot provide for better breathing when my copd acts up and breathing is low. Nice color choices; I bought teal. Highly recommend to anyone who is in the market for a good size TV bed pillow with an abundance of comfort. The seller says to give time for the pillow to take shape.....i found it to open quickly after i took it from the wrappings and fluffed it up a bit ...took shape quicker than expected.

NOTE that the title is "Milliard Reading Pillow with Shredded Memory Foam, LARGE Adult Backrest". Before anything let me say we love Milliard Products, we have 2 XL Backrests, 2 Twin XL Mattresses and 1 Body Pillow (that I had to remove from our bed because my husband said it was so large it was like sharing the bed with a 3rd person LOL). I got tired of my husband stealing my backrest every night so I thought I would purchase myself the "Large" rather than another Extra Large thinking it would be only slightly smaller. What showed up made us laugh! It's tiny, seriously child size tiny. In what world is this the difference between L and XL? It should be slightly smaller like clothes. The arms can only fit elbows and not full elbow to hand like the XL. Did they accidentally send me the child size? I should return, but I will probably give it to my 8 year old niece. See the pictures. That said, again we love Milliard products, but the "Large" is a bust, go for the XL it's large, luxurious, comfortable and hardy.
