My issue is with acid reflux. I read the reviews from people with the same issue so I did some research. I bought the Milliard Bed Wedge because it got great reviews and it comes with a washable cover. I was skeptical at best. I followed the direction and allowed it to expand for 2 days. It expanded to about 6 1/2 inches in total. The cover is stretchy and easily fits over the wedge. As far as I could tell, there was not an odor that some other wedges have. It seems to be made very well. There are 2 sides to it for those who want to put it on top of your mattress. One side is softer than the other. I put it under my mattress and hoped for the best. It's been about a week using it now and I have had the best sleep I have had in a long long time. My acid reflux doesn't bother me at night anymore. I wondered if I would have a hard time adjusting to it and slide down the mattress, but so far so good. No sliding. I also have planter fasciitis from working on cement all day. Before I used the wedge, when I would get out of bed in the morning, my feet would ache and I would have to hobble into the bathroom. I am shocked and amazed that since I've been using this wedge, my feet don't ache nearly as bad when I get up. They still hurt a little but I don't feel crippled in the mornings. Maybe it's just me, so I don't know if others would have the same benefit from it, but it's worth mentioning. I could not be happier with this wedge. Comfortable for all sleepers but best option for side sleepers from my personal experience since the entire plane of your body will be elevated at same angle. (By contrast, your body will be twisted at an odd angle if you sleep on your side on a wedge that only elevates your upper body and in my case caused sciatica pain.) love this full-length wedge; very comfortable and firm; you won’t sink into it, which would defeat its purpose. You'll feel like you are floating in a cloud. So comfy. No pressure paint pain. No sweat. All good. One minor exception however, the wedge is 3" too wide and 3" too long. Difficult to pull fitted queen sheet over "head" of wedge since although the wedge is only 7" high, it is 3" too wide. Also the extra wedge width hangs over the side(s) of mattress underneath. Weird. We put our king size wedge on top of our new mattress. The first two nights on this wedge were brutal! Hard as a rock! I was thinking about returning it, or at the least, putting the wedge between the mattress and the box spring. Then we discovered we had the wedge upside down, and the softer memory foam side was facing the mattress, but we were supposed to be sleeping that side. Once we turned it right side up, the wedge was much more comfortable. We have been sleeping on it for 2 weeks now, and it is firm, but comfortable. It's a little cooler than our prior wedge, which was all memory foam. We use this wedge on my doctor's suggestion, to alleviate acid reflux (GERD), reduce potential for aspiration due to a neuromuscular autoimmune disease, and to reduce my spouse's snoring. I LOVE this mattress topper. I have LERD and I used to cough all night, and now basically nothing. This has improved my sleep many fold. I am thrilled. It is comfy but not too soft, really good support. I do tend to slide down a bit during the night but it is not really a problem and easily corrected. And my spouse is normally a snorer but I haven't had to roll him over a single night since getting this thing. I was in no way paid for this review, I just honestly love it and it has improved my quality of life. The only thing I would mention is that there is quite an odor when it comes out of the box, lay it out on the living room floor or something for 12-24 hours before putting it on the bed. ... show more

As the review says I have mixed feelings. (Also, disclaimer nobody has paid me to do this review) The pros about this product is that if you're looking for immediate relief from GERD or having stomach acid seep into your esophagus then this WILL help you. The product came neatly packed and clean being vacuumed sealed and you have to let it sit out for 48 hours for it completely expand. It did keep me cool without overheating. The cons which for me outweigh the pros which is why I returned it. The cons were that it was very steep, I didn't even take into account to when you do move or sleep on your side it puts an enormous amount of pressure on your lower spine, thus making an uncomfortable night's sleep. Maybe if it was less steep, I might have liked it. One of my biggest complaints is that after a few nights of sleeping on it, it started to form a dip in the middle of the topper where I would sleep. This is huge for me because for the amount of money a product shouldn't start doing that after a few nights. No, I'm not a fat heavy guy either. I would expect this after owning it for many years but not after a few nights. Also, the product is slightly bigger than my mattress even thought it was the size I had ordered for. Also, I highly recommend that ALL mattress topper manufacturers start using corner straps, so the product doesn't shift so much every single time you get off or on and put straps like My Pillow Company does. At the end of the day, I returned my product and was refunded, and the customer service was great, but I just wanted to let people really know what it was like to purchase it. Maybe it will be a great product for the right person, but not for me. ... show more
