I keep my hair a white shade of platinum and this is hands down the best shampoo for keeping it that way. I use about once every 3 weeks (so every 10th wash or so) and really only need to leave it in for 2 minutes tops to see results. This is a great maintenance product between my root touch ups and when I just don't feel like mixing up an actual toner to get my hair back to that snowy white hue I like. It's not super drying for a toning shampoo amd doesn't leave a funky lavender tint to my ends. It can grab a bit more silvery on them if I accidentally get too much on the tips, but it blends into the less porous hair much better than purple lol. The grape scent is kind of icky to me as it reminds me of grape cough medicine but I can deal with it since it works so well and the smell doesn't linger after rinsing. ... show more

This product (and the conditioner) are my holy grail duo for my platinum skunk stripe (natural hair is jet black)! It works better than welland T18 chemic toner or any other brand of chemical toner or toning shampoo/conditioner that I've tried. Thankfully, I bought this early on so I didn't waste money on a bunch of toners. It feels luxurious and moisturizing on my hair, and has the PERFECT for hair like mine that pulls both yellow and orange when bleached. My only advice is not to let it sit too long when using for maintenance and make sure to rinse with cold water. Lastly, it smells AMAZING (imagine LUSH has a licorice scent) - sweet, earthy and fresh all at once!!! Worth every penny!!! ... show more

I ordered this for my daughter who has invested a lot of money in her hair. This is a fairly priced product. She knows that it is a shame to spend so much money at the shop to get her hair done and not keep it in the best condition possible. She has used both cheaper and more expensive similar products. This was surprisingly better than expected. It smells like grapes, in a good way. Most importantly, it left her color brighter and the condition of her hair was improved. “Black” shampoo was a hit. To be fair about this review, she did not follow up with the same type conditioner. Used this product immediately upon arrival. I have been using purple shampoo and because my hair is so porous I would get a light purple tint when using it which lead me to wanting to try this product. I left it in for 5+ minutes and it did not turn my hair a funky color like previous shampoos, it was just ashy as I was hoping. I did not have a chance to style my hair yet so I am excited to see how it looks done. It did dry my hair out quite a bit as other shampoos like this do, so did not expect anything different. The smell I am not personally a big fan of because it has an artificial grape scent and that just isn't my thing, but the results are totally worth dealing with the scent. The smell is great! Smells like a grape soda! The pigment looked promising but it's not at all what I though it would be. I expected that super duper dark grey due the color of the shampoo but it's just like any other purple shampoo. Very disappointing.

Usually when I see some brassy tones in my hair, I have to go and get it re-toned either at my salon or at home with the Wella toners just to get me back to platinum for a little bit. This does THAT. I use it 2x/week and the results are amazing. It's concentrated and works right away, so you have to use a little more than you might usually with another blue/purple shampoo, but it is well worth it. It kind of smells like grape, which is kind of pleasant, and it does dry out my hair a little bit so I just double-condition after use. LOVE IT!!!! ... show more
