  • More than just a golf speaker
Color: Obsidian Black
Mileseey is quickly becoming a brand I just keep coming back to. After picking up one of their digital measuring products I decided to give their golf line a shot and grabbed the GeneSonic Pro. As with their other products, the packaging and presentation are top notch and everything feels premium right out of the box. Setup was about as easy as it gets. Bluetooth pairing to my phone took seconds and the GPS found my home course on its own without even needing the companion app, which is a nice touch. The unit has a ton of courses preloaded directly on it so it does not need your phone or an active connection to pull yardages, it just works. I can track my round, see my front, center, and back distances, change the music, and manage the whole experience right from the detachable handheld. Speaking of detachable, the unit pops off the speaker easily and clips to your belt or pocket, which is great for cart path only days when you would otherwise be walking away from your yardages. I do have the iOS app downloaded for the extra stats and post-round data and it paired without any issues, but the app itself feels a little rough around the edges and could use some polish. The hardware is great though and more than makes up for it. The magnet system is seriously impressive. Four magnets lock this thing to your cart and I genuinely have zero concerns about it flying off, even on sharp turns or rough terrain. Battery life is rated at 15 hours and I have not had a single issue with it dying during a round, even playing in the Arizona heat. The screen also auto adjusts between a light and dark mode based on conditions which makes it easy to read in any lighting. And the sound? This thing thumps. If you crank it you will definitely turn some heads on the course, probably not the move unless your group is into that sort of thing. The best part about this thing is that it is not limited to the golf course. It goes anywhere. I have mine magnetically attached to my squat rack at the gym right now and it is perfect for adjusting volume or skipping a track between sets without breaking stride. ... show more

  • Worth The Hipe
Color: Obsidian Black
After putting this unit through its paces, I can safely say it delivers on its promises. It is a feature-rich tool that offers more than your standard GPS system, and the "no subscription" model makes the initial investment much more palatable. ________________________________________ Performance & Audio The unit does exactly what it’s advertised to do. The speaker quality is amazing, providing crisp sound that holds up well outdoors. A subtle but appreciated feature is the Bluetooth integration—the system actually gives you audible warnings when the battery is running low, so you aren't left in silence mid-round. I did experience a minor technical hiccup: while using it in my garage, the speaker powered off twice for no apparent reason, despite the battery being well over 50%. It hasn't been a deal-breaker, but it is something to keep an eye on. The Magnet: Trust the Hype When the manufacturer says the magnet is strong, trust them. I had an unexpected "torture test" where the unit took a hard impact; it simply spun 180 degrees around the cart frame without dropping an inch. If you’re worried about it falling off while driving over rough terrain, don’t be. GPS & Stat Tracking The accuracy is top-tier. I compared it against the built-in cart GPS, and it consistently tracked within a yard of the cart's readings. Other highlights include: • Removable GPS Unit: Love the flexibility of being able to pop the GPS out when needed. • Historical Data: It saves your rounds for later review, which is great for analyzing your game. • No Subscriptions: While the price is a bit high, you own the data and the service outright, which beats the monthly fees charged by competitors. ________________________________________ Areas for Improvement While I’m giving this 5 stars, there are two "tweaks" that would make this product perfect: 1. App Syncing: Currently, the app and the device don't "talk" to each other regarding score tracking. If you want your round saved on both your phone and the device, you essentially have to keep score twice. Seamless syncing is definitely needed here. 2. Display Interface: The main screen defaults to front, center, and back yardages. It’s functional, but it would be incredibly helpful if the hole number was displayed on that main screen as well to save you from toggling menus. Final Verdict This is a premium piece of kit that offers far more than just yardages. Despite the minor app frustrations and the rare power glitch, the build quality and accuracy are outstanding. With a few software updates, this would be off the charts. ... show more

  • Such a vibe
Color: Obsidian Black
I picked this up as someone who loves listening to music, so the idea of a portable speaker with a GPS rangefinder was intriguing. Already after playing a few rounds with my buddies and using it, it's quickly becoming one of my favorite golf accessories. Easy to setup, and having tons of golf courses preloaded with no subscription needed was is huge! The GPS is solid, giving accurate front/center/back yardages that update smoothly as you move around the course. And the speaker adds a nice touch — just loud enough to keep a good vibe going with the group while we're trying to lock in on our shots, without bothering anyone else out there. You may find it a little bulky but worth the trade off! Battery life seems pretty good so far. Lasted multiple rounds so I'm curious about how battery will age and the waterproof design is clutch during rainy season. Overall, it's a great mix of function and fun that makes the game better with friends. ... show more

  • Overpriced, Clunky, and Disappointing
Color: Obsidian Black
I was really excited to receive this GPS golf speaker/rangefinder and couldn't wait to get it out on the course. I was hesitant because of the price, but the listed functionality made it seem like it would be worth it. I had an Amazon gift card, so I decided to go ahead and purchase it. First impression: this thing is huge and surprisingly heavy. Also, for the price point, I was shocked that it didn't even come with a carrying case. The biggest issue was the touchscreen. Right out of the box, it was very unresponsive. I repeatedly had to tap functions multiple times just to move to the next screen or access different features. I thought maybe it was user error at first, but after taking it out on the course, I realized it wasn't. Several features either didn't work properly or were inconsistent, including speaker functions, volume settings, and the voice distance feature from the cart. The screen also goes to sleep very quickly, and simply touching the screen does not wake it back up. I found that I actually had to remove or detach the unit to get it responsive again, which is incredibly inconvenient during a round of golf. Overall, it feels clunky, inconvenient, and not nearly polished enough for the price tag. There are a lot of advertised features, but if the basic functionality and touchscreen performance are frustrating, the extra features don't matter much. Unfortunately, I would not purchase again. In my opinion, it's overpriced and not worth it. ... show more

  • Excellent Golf Companion with Great Sound and Accurate GPS
Color: Obsidian Black
I wasn't sure what to expect at first, but this has quickly become one of my favorite golf accessories. Combining a Bluetooth speaker and a GPS rangefinder into one device is incredibly convenient, and it has helped simplify what I carry on the course. The GPS locked onto my course quickly, the yardages have been accurate, and I really appreciate that there are thousands of preloaded courses with no subscription required. The detachable handheld GPS is also a smart feature, especially when I need to walk away from the cart to my ball. The speaker sounds much better than I expected, with clear audio that's easy to hear without being overpowering to other groups. The magnetic mount is extremely secure and never felt like it would come loose, even over rough terrain. Battery life has been excellent and easily lasts through multiple rounds before needing a recharge. Overall, this is a well-designed device that combines convenience, performance, and useful golf features into one package. It's a worthwhile investment for anyone who plays regularly and wants both quality GPS information and a great portable speaker. ... show more

  • Great device but is it actually worth 300$?
Color: Obsidian Black
This is my 2nd device as the 1st one came with an air bubble in the middle of the screen, the 2nd one came with one again but this time one top of the screen and it's not really visible. The device is working exactly like it's intended, I'm still learning it and seeing how it works but as of right now all the features promoted work great. I would just update the device though as soon as you get it. Looks good, sound is great, battery life seems to be good too. magnets works great speaker won't move on bumpy course or path. The fact that the device itself is the GPS and not your cellphone is a massive plus. Now that being said why 3 stars, is because I feel for a 300$ "premium" device, I shouldn't have had 2 speakers with airbubbles on the screen. The device also doesn't come with a screen protector nor some type of carrying case/cloth just to somewhat protect it when you travel with it. After 3 rounds with the device and sometimes detaching that screen and putting it in my pocket there's little scratches on it already.... I don't feel like I should pay an extra 50$ for a screen protector and carrying sock/bag. Also the detachable screen is great and does bring something extra that other speakers don't but is it truly worth paying an extra 150$? ... show more

  • Two devices in one and it does both well
Color: Obsidian Black
I picked this up to replace a separate GPS unit and speaker I was carrying on the course and it has simplified my bag setup nicely. The setup process was quick and connecting it to the app was straightforward. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to read even in bright sunlight which was one of my main concerns before buying. The GPS rangefinder detaches cleanly from the speaker and fits comfortably in hand. Having 43,000 plus courses preloaded with no subscription required is a big feature. I do not want to pay a monthly fee on top of the purchase price just to use the core feature, so the fact that it came included was just great. The audible distances are a nice touch so I can keep my eyes on my shot rather than looking down at the screen between holes. The speaker sound quality is better than I expected for a golf cart speaker. It gets loud enough to hear clearly outdoors without being intrusive to other players nearby. The magnetic mount holds securely to the cart and has not budged during a round. The 15 hour battery life is sufficient, I have never had to worry about it dying mid round. The waterproofing feature has also been tested a few times on rainy days without any issues. The one thing I will note is that it is on the heavier side compared to a basic GPS unit alone but that was pretty much expected. Overall, a well designed rangefinder that does exactly what it promises. ... show more

  • Not great
Color: Obsidian Black
Worked great the first few rounds. Now it quits on me around the 10th to 13 th hole. Sometimes it just shuts off and when you turn it back on and continue the round it doesn't read the holes right, or sometimes doesn't shut off and just doesn't read the holes. One time it shut off and I was able to get back on track but lost my score so I stopped using it to keep score. GPS does seem to be accurate when it does work. I wish the screen would stay on but it constantly shuts off and you have to double tap to turn it on which is annoying. Works great as a speaker. I would return it but the window has closed. I wanted to give it a fair chance on different courses and only play weekends so ran out of time. I would choose something else. ... show more
