Features

  • With a 1/2 bit and heavy-duty 2.5 long screws, this jig is designed for materials 1-1/2 (38mm) or thicker. Two holes are built with hardened steel drill bushings for precise and accurate 1/2 (12.7mm) pocket holes.
  • Dual-position fence allows the jig to align for new pocket hole drilling, or adapt for repairs. A recessed, rare earth magnet clamp pocket keeps the clamp in the same position as you move to different locations.
  • A convenient, built-in depth stop setting allows you to correctly set the drilling depth every time.
  • 1/2 high-speed steel step drill bit eliminates clogging and provides smooth and precise holes. Magnetic T25 Torx driver and screws seat easier and transfer more torque without stripping.
  • 1/2 split design stop collar prevents slipping of the set screw when tightened and prevents the bit from rolling .

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Milescraft 1326 is a pocket hole jig kit that has received generally positive reviews. Users appreciated its ability to handle thicker lumber sizes such as 2x4s and 4x4s, its value for money, and its performance in various carpentry tasks. However, some users reported the drill bit to be somewhat dull, and the holder included in the kit is considered of lesser quality.

Pros

  • 👍 Works well with thicker lumber, including 2x4 and 4x4 sizes.
  • 👍 Considered a good alternative to the more expensive brands.
  • 👍 Appreciated for its performance in various tasks such as building garden beds and large gates.

Cons

  • ❌ Some users reported the drill bit to be less sharp, resulting in rougher finishes.
  • ❌ The jig's depth collar may become loose without a flat side on the drill bit shaft.
  • ❌ The storage case that comes with the kit is considered to be of lesser quality.

Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a pocket hole jig kit that offers good value for money and can handle thicker lumber, the Milescraft 1326 is a solid choice. However, you may need to invest in a sharper drill bit if you are aiming for smoother finishes, and consider alternative storage options.

Was happy to find this as an alternative to the Kreg HD that I thought was overpriced. Used it with the regular Kreg clamp. Not entirely sure why the drill stop is adjustable, since this is exclusively a 2x hole jig, but it fits well. The 1/4 hex drive on the drill is a nice touch. The kit includes a 6" inch torx bit. Ironically the Kreg HD screws that I bought with this because I needed a PT compatible screw are #3 square drive. Comes with a case that gives some room to carry loose screws. Not sure that I could not have done just as well with regular 3/8" pocket holes, but it did what I was expecting it to do and the extra screw size offers some peace of mind. ... show more

  • Takes some practice.
I liked that this works quite well on 2x4 and even 4x4 lumber. My KRAG 700 series Pocket Hole Jig Kit could not handle the thickness of the studs I needed to install. This Jig Kit worked like a charm. It would help if you determined how far from the end of the stud you need to clamp the jig. You want the tip of the drill bit to exit the wood near its center. I use a welder's clamp to hold the jig. The only problem I found was that the depth collar tended to become loose. The shaft of the drill bit needed to have a flat side so the depth collar would not come loose. I used my bench grinder to create this. Had the bit had a flat side, this would have been a 5 star. ... show more

  • Good
Product works fine. Not quite at the quality of the Kreg, but for the price its goid. Not sure on the durability. Only time will tell. Wish the carrying was better quality. A bit thin. All in all I like it since I dont't use it often.

  • Great for dimensional lumber
Used this jig to make a couple raised garden beds with 2x4 lumber. The thicker, stronger screws for this jig appear to add more strength to the build and I think it will last longer. Very nice addition to the MilesCraft PocketJig line.

  • Drill Bit Does Not Seem Sharp
Right out of the box, I made a test piece using a pressure treated southern yellow pine 2x4. It felt like I was drilling into hardwood. My project (see photo) was to attach cedar sub-rails to the guard rail posts on my deck. I assumed the cedar would be much easier to drill; however, drilling the pockets required a substantial amount of force on the drill bit which was being driven at max speed using a new 18v cordless Ryobi drill/driver with a 1/2-in chuck. The drill did not produce chips but something more like saw dust or powder. I had to continually cleared the cutting debris by drilling only a short distance (~0.2 inch) and then backing the bit out a 1/2 inch or more. The bit became very hot and the resulting surface of the pocket was not smooth but more fuzzy or "rough-sawn" in appearance. After making only about a dozen holes, the battery was exhausted on my new Ryobi. I was surprised because, on other tasks, one battery would get me several hours of work time. I am now wondering if this is typical of this product and whether I should purchase a different bit, perhaps from Kreg (if it is compatible) before I continue this project. As a result, I am not please with the performance of this tool. ... show more

  • Jig itself Tis pretty decent.
Great for 2x4 and 2x6’s However, the tip of stepped drill bit broke the first time I used it. Was on prime select non pressure treated pine 2x4

  • Nice product
Just bill two large gates and used the pocket jig and some exterior glue. Seems to work well. Great for 2x material. Also the price for this jig is good.
