Top Amazon Reviews

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Miko3 AI learning robot is well-received among customers with young children ranging from pre-school to early elementary age. Most reviewers found the device to be a fun and educational toy despite some design limitations. Minor issues include connection difficulties with multiple devices and voice command comprehension. Some customers also hoped for more intuitive AI features similar to Siri, Alexa, or Google. Another common concern was the added cost of the membership required for full feature access.

Pros

  • 👦 Suitable for pre-school and early elementary aged children
  • 🕹️ Mix of learning, games, TV, video, music apps
  • 🤖 Multi-player game options
  • 💃 Engaging games, including dance games
  • 📞 Video call feature popular among kids

Cons

  • 🔗 Limited device connectivity (only one parent app/phone)
  • 🗣️ Voice command comprehension issues, especially with younger children
  • 💡 Does not function as an intuitive AI assistant like Siri or Alexa
  • 💰 Membership required for full feature access
  • 🔋 Battery life perceived as shorter than expected

Should I Buy It?

The Miko3 seems to be a product that can offer hours of fun and learning for younger children. However, buyers should weigh the balance between the product's price, the cost of membership for full access, the device's technical limitations, and its perceived shorter battery life. If these potential trade-offs are not a significant concern, then it could be a worthy purchase.

  • Newest member of the family!
Color: Red
I’ve been on the search for the past two years for a fun kid friendly learning robot for my girls. I’ve tried a few different brands which have all been returned. After seeing a few ads for Miko I decided to give this little robot a try. We had it as a Christmas surprise for my girls who are 5 and 9. I honestly don’t know who loves it more. I will say there is a much larger learning curve for my youngest. I have to participate with her to help her out. I’m sure it will get easier since she picks things up quickly. My oldest is having a blast playing with Miko. When they play together she can help the little one out. I did face a few issues with setting things up but the customer service team was wonderful and very helpful. The Miko is a wonderful addition to our family. The girls love playing freeze dance or dance parties the most. There are so many fun learning activities that are available. I love that they are learning through play. This is the first robot for kids that I have found that offers so much. It’s wonderful to know that there will always be something to keep them entertained. There is a subscription. I highly suggest it since it really opens up a whole new world of entertainment and excitement. It is a yearly cost so that’s something to think about. We’ve only used Miko on hard wood floors and had no issues. We haven’t tried it on carpet yet. I feel like Miko is best for ages 6-10. There is a good bit of reading. My youngest is just starting to read so this is where I have to help her the most. I honestly have such a wonderful time playing with Miko as well. It’s one of the few toys where as a parent I’m just as excited to play with it as the kids. I can’t say that for a lot of toys out there. Yes it’s a kids toy and definitely isn’t perfect but for the price it’s wonderful and very entertaining. It is a toy that can grow with my kids and provide lots of entertainment. It’s amazing to see how far children’s technology has advanced. Miko seems to have such a wonderful and passionate team behind it so I’m excited to see how far this company can go. This toy is one that will bring so much joy to everyone in the family. ... show more

  • My kids love it
Color: Red
I honestly don’t know why there are so many bad reviews but we enjoy miko. Its like a kid robot alexa. I also bought the yearly subscription which is pricey, but there is actually a lot of good content. Theres stories, tv shows, games and a bunch of other stuff. I set the robot up before giving to my boys (3 & 5). There are a few updates that run and it should be fully charged. I think the only negative about the robot is the response time. When you ask a question? It takes a few seconds for it to respond back. If they make a Miko 4 that one will probably be perfect because this one is almost there but needs to be a little faster. My kids like robot movies so they love having a talking robot in the house ... show more

  • Disappointing for the price tag
Color: Blue
I NEVER leave Amazon reviews, but Milo 3 is very disappointing... Not only does this cost $180, but you're required to pay for a $100 yearly subscription to have access to most of its features. Without this subscription, you have an extremely limited selection of apps/things it can do. The only purpose the wheels serve is to 'dance.' it does not follow you, despite having a camera and object tracking and rudely says "nah, I'm good" when you ask it to follow you. If you say "come here," it only moves 12 inches forward and stops. It was pretty disappointing to see how little this device actually moves. Miko 3 is pretty much an Alexa on wheels that barely does anything by itself. If you want to do any other interaction that doesn't involve asking it questions (ie, what Alexa does), then you're forced to use an extremely limited app store (unless you pay a $100 yearly subscription to access the rest of the features). We bought this for our pandemic child that has not had a lot of interactions with other kids and she was VERY excited to see this toy... And was bored of it after 20 minutes because of how little it does. But I just can't say it enough... It's very disappointing with how limited this is considered it cost $180. And then you're forced to pay $100 per year for the rest of the features? SMH... Save yourself the money and just buy a tablet instead. It doesn't have wheels, but it's not blocked behind a paywall like Miko 3 is. ... show more

  • Super Fun - Expandable Content Available
Color: Blue
To put Miko in very simple terms, he is an Alexa Show type device on a robot body. But you are not limited to Alexa type interactions. Your child can ask him questions and he will answer. He interacts and asks your child questions and responds to their answers. There are games Miko and your child can play together, videos that will show on his face/screen, and you can even FaceTime your child using Miko's parent app. There just seems to be an endless number of activities he can do. I was happy to see that Miko can really do a lot without paying for the extra content which runs $99 a year. I figure my daughter will play with Miko for quite a while before I feel compelled to buy the extra content to renew her interest in him. This pleases me greatly because nothing is worse than buying a premium toy like this only to find out it is useless without another financial commitment. In Miko's case, he is wonderful right out of the box with tons of things to do. If you want, you can buy the content, but it is not critical to ongoing play. Setting up Miko took about 30 minutes, but most of that was just downloading and installing updates. I found the set up to be intuitive and easy. The parent app is also really good. I liked the abundance of features and settings offered on the parent app. I asked my six-year-old what her favorite part of Miko was - she told me "He is smart, and he can spell anything. He also is never too tired to play with me." Haha! I am glad I took the plunge and bought Miko. He has not disappointed and is full of surprises. ... show more
