I bought this nice cabinet for laundry product storage. Unfortunately, it’s too short to accommodate more than one shelf because the products are tall. The packaging was outstanding on this item. All of the pieces were well-protected by foam and padded sheets, and labeled according to the assembly instructions.. The connecting parts were also labeled and in a compartmentalized package. There was even a little bag labeled “extra parts”. Amazing. The assembly instructions were superb and written by someone who actually speaks English! Step-by-step instructions with diagrams were awesome. The composite pieces are heavy and well-constructed. You DO need two people to assemble, as recommended. The parts are sturdy/bulky and hard to balance by yourself. Two things affect my rating of this otherwise lovely cabinet. First, the back is made of cheap cardboard. This really surprised me, considering the quality of the rest of the unit. The first time I would accidentally hit it with a detergent bottle, I’m sure it would punch out. I had to buy two wooden sheets to replace the two cardboard ($40). Second, the finish has already started rubbing off on the corners. I have no clue how extreme this will become but I will have to keep some white touch-up paint at the ready, Otherwise, this is a small, sturdy cabinet that is easily tucked into a corner and looks pretty. ... show more

The item itself is great. It's beautiful and I know that if I can ever get it put together, it will be sturdy and just what I need. My issue with it is that it is supposed to come in 2 boxes. My first delivery I got the top half. The entirety of the box was broken. Every single piece. So I didn't fully unpack it and look at the instructions and materials list which resulted in me not realizing it was only 1/2 of the cabinet. I requested a replacement and set it outside for UPS. Smooth process for it to be picked up. The new one was delivered and the box looked different. It was a bit smaller and thicker. I assumed they changed their packaging style. The picture was of the cabinet. I opened it up to put it together only to realize I was missing the entire top of the cabinet. Customer service told me it only came in one box and sent a replacement with instructions to send back the first replacement. I again only got the bottom of the cabinet. The only thing customer service will do for me at this point is provide a refund so I can send it back and order again. I'd be happy to do that but there's an issue with shipping where the person processing these orders is not sending out both boxes. There's no promise that when I order again I'll get both boxes like I'm supposed to. I'm pretty disappointed. ... show more

I had to wait an extra week to get all the boxes and parts. I got one and when I called Customer Support, they said it comes in "2" boxes and this has been an issue with almost all orders. This comes in A LOT of pieces. The directions are pretty straight forward though. I read a bunch of reviews before this purchase and noticed that some people said the drawers and cabinets were offset about an inch. While putting it together I noticed that the top board of the drawers can be flipped upside-down and everything will fit the way the picture asks but it will be offset by about an inch. If you flip the board over then your problem will most likely be solved. :) I will say the back board behind the shelves and drawers are very flimsy and definitely need to be tacked down better than what the directions say. ... show more

This item looks nice on Amazon, but it is not built well. The MDF chips off and breaks off really easily, and the first one we received was all busted up inside just from the jostling of shipping. The second one Amazon sent to replace the busted one seemed undamaged, but in trying to put it together, it has a MAJOR FLAW. The holes for the joint connector nuts are drilled incorrectly, so that the top of the unit is off center with the bottom unit. It actually looks OK from the front side, but the problem is that the back panels then don't lie flush with the cabinet, leaving nothing to screw the back panels to, and leaving a gap at the back of the cabinet. I was able to "gerry rig" this by making a small 1.5 cm x 1.6 cm x 55.5 cm long piece to secure to the back of the cabinet to screw the back panel to. I also had to fashion another small piece to secure the lower back panel to, and I had to shave off the lower back panel to make them fit. Then I had to paint both extra pieces of wood white with spray paint, and wait for them to dry, and drill a bunch of new holes, so as not to split the small pieces of wood I had to add. It ended up working out OK, but took a lot of extra time and "gerry rigging" effort to make it work. I will be keeping the item, because the front facade looks nice, it fits the bathroom nook perfectly that I purchased it for, and it is now all put together. It would not take any deconstruction, as the piece would just break apart to take it apart and send it back. But, if I had known that the joint connector nuts were drilled incorrectly (at the factory) before going to all of the effort to put it together, I would have sent it back to Amazon, and purchased something else. And I'm not the only one I see who's had this same problem, so this needs to be addressed and fixed at the factory. Frankly, I think that Elegant Home Fashions owes me something for all of the trouble I went through to make this cabinet work, but that will probably never happen. ... show more

I've put together plenty of furniture recently and this is the worse one! 3 pieces were cracked/broken, the screw holes on the back were not aligned and one handle is not tight. You can't convince me these were my fault! Oh - and there are paint runs in the finish. Stick with the Big Name Brands! I would send it back, except it was delivered by USPS (don't get me going on that!) and it's a very big hassle for me to return it after the packaging has been opened. ... show more
