This is our only our second household set of dishes since marriage, moving on from a heavy set of stoneware that we have used for more than 20 years. I would not call these dishes lightweight, but they are lighter than our stoneware set. We love the size and style of these, clean, simple and white to match our new kitchen. The smaller plates are so useful for lunch and snacks. The small bowls are also great for snacks, dessert, a bit of cereal, even as cooking prep bowls. The mugs are lovely and comfortable to use and have inspired us to drink tea more often. The 40 piece Delray set arrived without any cracks, chips, or breakage. None had any rough edges or bottoms. Could not perceive any imperfections or inconsistent sizes . All stack easily. All fit into my Bosch dishwasher. Can not attest to durability etc. as have not had for sufficient time but all appear sturdy and well constructed with a good finish. Like that salad plates are a little larger than most dinnerware sets and could use in a pinch as the regular plates (and perfect for children). Hopefully they will last as I am very satisfied. Update. Have been using a lot and still no problems, The small bowls are very useful for many purposes: snacks, condiments, spices and chopped items for cooking, mixing small amounts etc. One reviewer noted that the plates were a little shallower then other sets which is true, so if you serve a lot of dishes with a lot of fluid you have to be careful if transporting to the table. Once on the table they are okay. . Like the cups as they hold as much as a mug but have a design that is better for a dinner setting. Definitely dishwasher safe. ... show more

Beautiful china. One cereal bowel arrived broken but Amazon gave me credit for that single bowl. Although I realized after I accepted the credit that it didn't cover the cost plus shipping to replace it from Mikasa.com website. I should have checked before accepting it what the actual cost was and now I'm out an additional $6.15 and that's after using a coupon. So if you have a broken piece, make sure you know the price to replace before accepting Amazon's refund/credit. ... show more

Bought this set two weeks ago. It’s beautiful. Color and feel is nice. Bowls are the perfect size and shape. Love the set but they do not stand up to the microwave. Pictures show a plate that broke after 1 minute and 20 seconds in the microwave. The plate and the food were all still cold to the touch. I don’t use the microwave much so this was likely the first time this particular dish was in the microwave. I’ve used these dishes in the microwave maybe a total of 3 or 4 times but there are so many, it wasn’t likely the same one. I had another plate making strange noises after only 30 seconds in the microwave. I took it out, unbroken but I have never heard a plate creaking and popping in a microwave to the point the I was so concerned that I had to remove it. I have absolutely no problems with any of my other dishes or glass containers. -EDIT- After another inspection, the plate that was making strange noises does have minor chipping on the face as if tiny pieces the size of a grains of sugar popped off. Also there is a metallic looking stain that has appeared below the surface. For the price, these plates should be reliable in the microwave. Right now I have a giant stack of expensive dishes that I can’t use to heat anything and now I’m concerned about the dishwasher where they actually do get hot. Seller contact and website are apparently down??? So I will try to contact them via phone but I’m not expecting much help. ... show more
