  • A Great Continuation of Boom! Studios’ Comic Series!
Ryan Parrott & Sina Grace’s “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Necessary Evil, Part Two: Deluxe Edition” features art by Daniele Di Nicuolo, Francesco Mortarino, Simona Di Gianfelice, Moisés Hidalgo, and Dan Mora, colors by Walter Baiamonte, Katia Ranalli, Igor Monti, Sabrina Del Grosso, Raúl Angulo, Enrique Fernandez, and Eleonora Bruni, letters by Ed Dukeshire, and cover art by Goñi Montes. This volume collects “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” nos. 48-55, “Go Go Power Rangers” nos. 29-32, and “Power Ranger: Ranger Slayer” no. 1. The stories continue to focus on the fallout from the “Shattered Grid” storyline that helped resolve the conflict with Lord Drakkon, though it left empowered throughout the universe with direct connections to the Morphin Grid, causing chaos. Flashbacks continue to focus on Tommy’s early leadership experiences as the White Ranger while Jason, Zack, and Trini prepare to leave the team, having selected Rocky, Adam, and Aisha as their replacements. While the original Red, Black, and Yellow Rangers ostensibly depart to attend a peace conference in Switzerland, in reality the Blue Morphin Master selected them to become the Omega Rangers and help the empowered so they no longer pose a threat to themselves or others. As the story progresses, things seem increasingly bleak for the Power Rangers: Lord Zedd works to recharge the chaos crystal in order to defeat the Mighty Morphin Rangers while the Omega Rangers face a being calling itself the Empyreal that has the ability to destroy entire planets. The Rangers on Earth only succeed through the intervention of Grace Sterling’s Promethea endowing someone with the Green Ranger powers while the Omega Rangers narrowly escape. Meanwhile, in the coinless universe, the Ranger Slayer must unite the factions left behind in Lord Drakkon’s wake to defeat a resurrected Rita Repulsa. A solid continuation of Boom! Studios “Power Rangers” comics in a beautiful deluxe hardcover edition for collectors. This series continue to tell stories true to the characters that fans of the original franchise know and love while adding a level of depth and complexity that these same original fans – now in their late 20s through mid 30s – will appreciate. ... show more
