You could even buy a jacket to match with your school colors! Quality: This jacket isn’t your typical jacket. Although these jackets are priced at about $218, the quality makes the price worth it. Most jacket designers don’t keep your hands in mind when creating a jacket even though that’s usually one of the colder parts of our body when outside. Taken this into consideration, the Marmot jacket has micro fleeced lined zip hand-warmer pockets. This may seem as a very small detail, but a very convenient and useful detail. Let’s talk about the jacket itself now! The jacket is 100% Polyester with 700 fill power down. One last important touch, the removable, also power down, hoodie that is lined with synthetic fur ruff. Effectiveness: The effectiveness of this jacket is what made me fall in love with this jacket. Down insulation is much warmer than the typical synthetic jacket. Down usually lasts longer, and not to mention the feathers help with breathability. On average a synthetic jacket will lose it’s effectiveness in 5-7 years, whereas a down jacket can retain it’s warmth for up to 10-20 years (Wellman, 2016). I ordered one size up as other customers have recommended. I am normally a medium and ordered the large size. It fits but is roomy and NOT flattering. I almost sent it back, but I really love how soft and warm it is. Initially I wanted to exchange it for a medium but the chest is very tight while everything else fits very lose. I'm a bit disappointed with the cut. If you have a very small chest you will like it. Overall the quality of the fabric, zipper and stitching is excellent but I wish this coat would fit better. I live at 8k feet in the high Rockies so it gets really cold and really snowy. Normally I just layer up but I got tired of that and wanted a coat I could wear with a T-shirt so I didn’t constantly have to wear so many layers. This jacket is it. I’ve worn it everyday for about a week in anywhere from 30 degree-5 degree weather and been toasty with just a T-shirt underneath. On top of that it’s cute and fits perfectly in my normal jacket size (5’9, 168 pounds, size large; for reference.) I am very cold natured and I bought this jacket for a trip to Alaska. We experienced temperatures of -11 with 17 mph winds. The jacket kept me very warm. I am 5’4” and it hit right below my knee. This jacket saved me from -9c winter with snow ! And im easily cold ! So glad i bought this from amazon for my rather extreme winter holiday. I wear 2 thermals + 1 fleece jacket which makes medium size fits well. It doesnt look slim on the arms, but im willing to compromise as its very warm. Terribly disappointing...this coat is so beautiful and so expertly made, I absolutely love it. The soft fleece in the sleeves, torso and collar, feel so wonderful. It is warm and luxurious. It is so unfortunate that it is made to fit only the tall and slender....no boobs or butt allowed! I am not a big woman...5'2", about 130 pounds, 36C. I bought the medium, which should have been appropriate, but it is so tight across the chest and shoulders, even with a thin cotton tee underneath, I couldn't raise my arms to drive the car. This coat is very attractive and will keep you very warm. The only problem is that you have to have tiny t-Rex arms and no chest to be able to fit it. I am and average size and weight at 5’5” and wear a medium in most shirts and sweaters. I saw the reviews and sized up at a large, but it was tight on my 36D chest and baggy at my waist.
