This car has the perfect speed for a 4 year old. Not too fast. Not too slow. Just perfect!!! The size was smaller than I expected but it’s decent size. So playing with it is fun. The materials feel very durable and after multiple bumps into walls, chairs, tv stands, the car is still fine and working like it’s new. The remote is very ergonomic and easy to handle for a kid. Smallish for my adult hands but definitely usable even for adults. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and the price I paid for it.

Cute but super small! I did not know what the scale was but this was super small for the price. I had to return and got something that was 1/18 scale and cheaper. It was cute tho if you are looking for something this size.

I really liked the look of this 1/24 scale remote controlled car, so I thought that it would be fun to review. I’ve always appreciated German engineering, especially the way that Audi makes blurring the lines between a sport and luxury vehicle appear so easy! I was surprised to see that this RC car is officially licensed by Audi, so that alone told me that at least the presentation will be spot on. It does in fact have a genuinely aesthetic to it and would make a cool conversation piece if put on display between uses. A couple of suggestions would be to consider stowing this on a bookshelf or desk. Moving on, an actual Audi R8 is produced in extremely limited global production, usually with just 2,500 or fewer available, and has an MSRP that currently starts at $171,000! I don’t even want to know how much it would cost to insure such a vehicle, let alone the fact that you would probably never get to fully enjoy it as damaging it would always be in the back of your mind! I know, a scale model is not a true replacement, but it’s a nice RC car that will only set you back at most $40 if you do somehow destroy it! And, with the current 20% off coupon, you’re looking at only $32, which is a more-than-fair price! THE “PROS:” • Approximately 40 minutes runtime! • Decent construction! • Direction adjustment feature! • Includes a 500mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery! • Quick shipping! • Soft rubbery tires (not plastic)! • Surprisingly fast! • Up to 200-foot range! • Working headlights! THE “CONS:” • Hand control looks and feels cheap, NOT ergonomic. • Motor would have benefited from more power. • Operates best on a flat, hard surface. • Remote requires standard non-rechargeable batteries. • Taillights are NOT functional. • Transmits on standard 2.4GHz. • Would have liked to see a second rechargeable battery. Ultimately, there’s a lot to like about this product, especially the price! The manufacturer did a phenomenal job creating a decent, officially licensed scale replica. I get that there are a few choices that the manufacturer needed to make to ensure that this remote-controlled Audi R8 is both affordable and decent quality. Fortunately, none of the above “cons” amount to being a dealbreaker, but with as much attention to detail that went into the product design, I just don’t get why they cut corners on two things. First, I would have wanted headlights and taillights that are BOTH functional. Second, I would have liked to see a higher quality remote control that’s more on par with the RC car itself. These two changes would have made this a five-star product. The bottom line is that I recommend this product!
