I'd seen ads for these things before, and it looked great, but our old microwave always looked so scuzzy--even after being cleaned extensively with hot vinegar, it had this orange, slimy tint--so why spend the money? We got a new microwave a couple months ago, and I wanted it to stay clean. Like really clean. I'm not kidding when I say that every time I open the microwave door, I think, "This thing is WONDERFUL." I seriously think that, EVERY time I open the door. I haven't had to graze a sponge against the walls of the microwave since I bought it. I do rinse the turntable, and this cover (you can see some bits of the cat food I just microwaved in the pic), but haven't taken a sponge to the inside of the microwave ONCE. And it looks like THIS. (My husband calls it "pristine".) Every morning when I use it I think, "I should write a review, because I would like everyone to else to not have to worry about one thing in life, too. Why not let it be cleaning the microwave?" The only slight con is that the way the "handles" are curved makes it kinda tough to grab it from the top to lift it out. Simple fix--just reach under the gaps on the bottom. Even if I couldn't do that, it's still worth it. Worth. Every. Penny.

Love this product! I melt a love of butter in ramekins for recipes like pancakes, waffles, etc. and sometimes I forget to babysit it while I do other stuff in the kitchen. This has saved me so many times from cleaning up exploded butter all over my microwave! Whenever my butter (unfortunately) explodes I just pop the cover in the dishwasher and voila! Clean microwave, clean cover, and no excess cleanup! Great for covering microwavable foods, too. I got some Panera mac & cheese from the store and it was great for covering it to keep in moister while it heated up Overall a great purchase and it was inexpensive. I was expecting lower quality for the price, but it's great. I'd buy it again but I literally don't need another one because I only have the one microwave

As soon as I received this cover I tried it with some food that usually snaps, pops and splatters in my microwave, making a big mess. No mess with this cover! Any errant food particles end up on the cover's inner surface, which is very easy to clean with soap and water. I had only one problem. I couldn't grab the smooth, molded-in "handle". It kept slipping out of my fingers. So, I made a trip to my local we-sell-everything-under-the-sun hardware store and bought a NYLON machine screw (#10 x 1.5"), two nuts and two flat washers. (All NYLON). I then drilled a a small hole in the top of the cover and attached the screw. (See photo.) It is now extremely easy to lift the cover. If you decide to try this just make certain you DO NOT USE a metal screw, nuts or washers. A hard-to-clean microwave interior has just become a thing of the past for me. Yay!

This product is amazing. I can't believe I've never had Splatter Cover for my microwave before but I didn't know they existed until recently. It has already saved me time. It's easy to clean. Made from a durable plastic that doesn't touch my food. It's wide and fits over the bigger plates nicely. Some reviews mentioned that it's hard to pick up from the handle but I don't have that problem. Maybe because my hands are small. Even if I couldn't pick it up from the handle, I can grab it from the side. Works great. I highly recommend.

I've been using this for a few weeks now and I use it maybe half of the times I microwave. Why half? I'll start with the cons: 1. This this cover is actually pretty shallow compared to my bowls and any food on the plate has to be under 2.5 inches. It looks like their 3" diameter may be the external dimensions and not internal. I just measured it at around 2.6 " at the lowest point in the middle, the part that would touch your food. Now, consider the height of your plate! if my plate was about 1" thick and this cover goes over the plate (and not standing on the plate), then I only have about 1.5" of allowable height of the food. In the product page's pictures, it actually looks like the hamburger is touching the lid. 2. The grip on this this is pretty bad. It has slipped out of my hands a few times while lifting it off of the food and that means it fell back into the food. This is a big no no in my book. 3. the molded grip and vents means more crevices that need special attention when being cleaned. This product isn't all bad though. Pros: 1. This feels very sturdy while flexible and feels like it could last a long time. 2. It has some grip (even if it isn't great). I'd rather have some grip than none. 3. The feet do not seal off the bottom, it isn't like a bowl with a rim. There are feet that are spaced out. This allows movement of air and moisture which is a nice design. 4. There are vents at the top and bottom. 5. Very wide. this thing actually fits perfectly on my microwave's glass tray. Conclusion, The cons are annoying so I'd probably recommend looking for something less "modern" and go with something with a more time tested design.

My microwave is set in above my stove - it's pretty high for me to reach so cleaning it is a nightmare. I've been using this cover for a while and it is a life saver. It helps food heat up more evenly and quicker and keeps my microwave spotless. If there's too much moisture it will drip onto the glass plate in the microwave, but that's much easier to clean up than a dirty microwave with caked on food. There are some nooks and crannies that are not the easiest to clean if you're washing this by hand but I just run it in the dishwasher on normal (not super hot i.e. pots and pans) and let it air dry instead of heated dry in the dishwasher. It's sturdy and durable. Will definitely purchase again, but don't anticipate needing to do it anytime soon! Highly recommend!
