I bought this because my Mac had finally given out on me, and I was hesitant at first, because I have a preference for Apple, but I was caught by the sleek look it had, which I assume could be comparable to the look of a Mac. It really is as light to carry around as they advertise, and I like how soft of a blue the color is. When it arrived, the set up process was super simple and I easily fell in love with it the first day I had it. The only thing I could complain about is how the charger isn't universal, so it would be hard to replace if it gets lost, but other than that, I will be sticking to Microsoft Surfaces from now on!! ... show more

The only downside for me is the crackling noise that would sound whenever there was an audio or video playing.     • Capable Windows laptap is the right size for travel

Very impressed with this laptop even though it going on 3 years since it was first configured. Given the specs and my need for what a small laptop needs to do, this is a perfect match. An Intel i5 is fast enough for most applications, the 8gb of RAM is fine for spreadsheets, emails, and simple video chores, but it won't adequately handle photography post processing software. As things are going, Adobe and the other software companies are pushing more of the work onto GPUs and not CPUs, so you'll need to spend more and shop for a different configuration to handle that king of work. The 12.4" screen is the size I was going for because this laptop will be the one that I take on trips. Anything larger would be too big to fit in my camera bag and too heavy to drag around in the field. My intent in to offload the images from the camera to the laptop so this product should work for that simple task. The image quality is really good and the touch screen is nice to have although I'm not into working that way. I you prefer it, you've got it. So for the price, this is a good option to consider. If you have other Windows devices, Microsoft makes it easy to import files and some programs automatically. The seller shipped the unit quickly and delivery via FedEx went off without a hitch. We first purchased this laptop for our kids, and it's the perfect step up from a Chromebook. The build quality is top-notch with very simple inputs and features. The screen has survived months of use by our kids and is showing zero wear. Overheating has not been an issue, and we only hear the fan kick on if it is resting on a blanket or carpet. It will not run intensive video editing programs or demanding video games, but it works great as a school laptop or watching youTube videos. The touchscreen and fingerprint power button both work great, and we've had zero functional issues. The only criticism I have is with the arrow keys and their odd design. Trying to use them while editing in Excel or Word has caused a number of misc licks, but I view that as a very minor detail. ... show more

I needed a laptop for pretty basic needs: writing Word Docs, sending emails, paying bills, filing my taxes. I wanted something simple, and a laptop that is fast. In the past, I've used Dell, and they were frustratingly slow. What I love most about this laptop is: (1) incredibly easy to set up and transfer everything over from my old laptop, utilizing my Microsoft account; (2) small, light, and sharp looking; (3) being able to use either the cursor or touch screen, and (4) its fast. The only drawbacks I have experienced thus far are: (1) because of the small screen, sometimes when I'm accessing online forms to fill out, some of the form is outside the window, and I am unable to adjust things to make it appear/fit in. This doesn't happen too often, but when it does, it's frustrating; (2) sometimes, when I'm operating the laptop on battery power, the screen is very dark and I can barely see it; and when I've tried to adjust the brightness, it doesn't help, so the only solution is to plug it in, which increases the brightness of the screen; and (3) given the small screen size, the font is hard to see; but that was my choice when purchasing this, and you CAN expand the window with your fingers on the screen, so you can overcome that. It's only been about a month, but all in all I've been very pleased. ... show more
