So my charger port stopped working after a year and I was quoted $500 to repair it and my warranty wasn't applicable BUT it's okay because guess what? You can charge these with a regular shmegular usb c/ type c charger. Although if you decide to do this make sure the adapter/box that you're using is at least 65w so that it charges optimally and doesn't cause any long term issues. It's okay if it's a higher wattage because the device itself won't pull more power than it needs. Besides the whole charger debacle this is a wonderful device. I purchased a few weeks after I started taking college classes because the one I already had was too big and bulky. This one is slim and doesn't take up much space. I can fit it on a school desk to take notes and still have enough room for my tablet which I have my textbooks on. It is heavier than I expected but it's tolerable. The touch screen is super convenient. And do to it's smaller size it makes studying anywhere possible. Then when it comes time to take a break it's crisp speakers and quality graphics make movie breaks a dream. If it wasn't for the fact that you have 2 different charging options I would've told you not to buy it because the slim design makes it more complicated to take the device apart and put it back together if you do need repairs which make them pricier. Its also hard to get the parts themselves. But since the issue of the dead charger port isn't actually a problem I've fallen in love with this device all over again! ... show more

This is my second Surface Laptop, and the quality and value are even better than the first one. This is a top-notch machine that is fast, thin, sleek and elegant. My first Surface laptop is still going strong after 8 and half years and expect this one will last just as long up and until I'm ready for another upgrade. Wonderful product: 15" display is the way, not obtrusive at all. Super skinny and lightweight unit. Lighted keyboard is done subtle and elegant... keyboard travel fantastic Track is nice size, not quite big as my macbook but very good size. System is very fast in this configuration 512 gb 16 gb ram... in my opinion no need to go to next level, save the $500. Look and finish is amazing. flips open with one hand which is nice. Power brick has a usb charging port which is awesome. The 3 cons are: only 1 USB C / Thunderbolt 4 port, would have been easy to add 1 or 2 more - 720 camera is odd in this day and age not to do a 1080, battery life is wildly overestimated, no way 17 hours in any scenario... they seem to do this with all the surface line as my surface book was also way over specked on battery life. I bought this for work and personals use, and immediately fell in love! I got the 13.5". It's light but feels and looks sturdy, and the computer itself looks very professional. The battery holds up well unless I'm playing a strenuous game like Conan exiles, (that's expected because it's not a gaming laptop) but it runs the game great! I was almost discouraged to buy it because of a few bad reviews, but I'm so glad I did! I will update the review in a few weeks to tell how it's doing. (Update: I still love it!! It works amazing and it hold up really well!) ... show more

Very disappointed in this laptop. It was defective the moment I took it out of the box. After two hours of trying to set it up, it would freeze, then reboot. Upon reboot it would again freeze and reboot. After several reboots it gave me a Windows error message and asked how I would like to recover. After recovering and rebooting, the wifi wouldn't even connect/work, despite every other wireless device in my house working just fine. After contacting tech support it was determined the Laptop is defective. I have a difficult time understanding when this kind of thing happens within the first year. Imagine how much more disappointing a tech device is when it can't even make it 24 hours. I'll be returning for a refund and buying a laptop from a competitor. ... show more

So i love microsoft products in general. Its light weight and the screen size is just spot on! But if i need to be honest then yeah it doesnt have the best battery life if i compare it with mac.. If you have multiple tabs on and running internet and working straight then it would last you about 8 hours straight. If you leave it on then it can go for days without draining too much battery. But then u get the problem with the screen freezing now and then. Overall its a 4/5 for me. ... show more
