Other than being a little too light in build, in some parts, it's a great introduction for kids or beginners. There are better ones out there, but they also cost more. So, there's that. Otherwise, it would be cool for kids' science projects or an educational tool.

Firstly, I am giving this five stars evaluating this as what it is - a toy. At under $100 I did not expect this to have the same capability as a real microscope that costs 30x the price, and it does not. The optics are not as clear, which is to be expected; quality lenses are expensive, and the individual lenses on microscopes in research laboratories cost more than this entire microscope. The controls are not as smooth or adjustable, and this microscope is much lighter and more portable as a whole. That said, as a toy this is great. It works well - it does magnify and give a look into the microscopic world and the things hiding right before our eyes. It is not crystal clear, but it is good enough to get an idea of what’s there. It’s portable, and comes with a bag to cover and store it in. As a toy or first educational experience, this works well and at a price tag that won’t break the bank or turn your face white if someone hits a slide with one of the lenses.

The OOZSTAR Compound Microscope delivers a 40x to 2500x zoom range with dual LED illumination. Perfect for adults or students! What I like - It has a huge magnification range from 40x to 2500x, this lets you zoom right in to most things, such as fabrics. It has dual LED lighting from both above and below which is great for transparent slides. It's beginner focused so it's easy to use and get set up. It works great! It's a sturdy build, nothing seems cheaply made or flimsy. You can use USB C if you dont want to use batteries although it does have a pretty good battery life, having both options is great! Things to note - Comes with slides and other items you'll need but you only get a handful of slides so you may need to purchase additional slides with this if your child wants to look at everything under the microscope. Bottom line - It's a good introductory microscope for the price, less than $100. Perfect for students or budding scientists, helps young people to get to know their way around science at home!
