  • Some welcomed improvements to an already good product
Size: T20
We find that the TONOR arms make for really good solutions when you are on a budget, or simply don't want to spend some of the asking prices of the big names (which can get pretty silly when you compare price to materials). Typically, TONOR products are quite reasonable when it comes to asking price, which is what really helps to drive their success and our usage around the office. This specific arm comes with an updated design that appears to mostly be centered around the clamp (which is a good thing). The clamp feels a lot more sturdier in design and looks nicer too. Where some of the older models we have kicking around on various projects feature a much smaller clamp which can cause it to wiggle around a bit after so many times of maneuvering the arm around. With the extended portion of the bottom of the clamp that reaches under the surface of whatever you are attaching it to, you can slide a block of wood in there (or come up with your own solution) to help stabilize it further if the arm gets a lot of use or a heavy mic at the end. Can't say for sure if that's what it is for, but the idea floated in the back of our minds. It does come with a pop filter with gooseneck and also a foam windscreen for a large condenser-style microphone. The only catch is we found that this arm took a little more effort to move around right out of the box. Thankfully, a drop of oil here and there and that's all it took to get it moving around just like the rest. This one came with a small mic clip for regular handhelds or small condensers, and you have adapters so you can use the threads of the arm for any other clip or mount you need to connect to it. Those additional clips/mounts would have to be supplied by you though (ie, if you were using a large condenser for example). - Updated with images (05/07/2020) **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know. • Rock solid mic stand
Size: T20
The media could not be loaded. This is one of the strongest and well built mic stands (or arm) that I've had the pleasure of using. I've had it for a few months and wanted to wait till I've run it through the ringer before giving my full honest opinion. What I can say is, this arm is well worth it. Pros: - Super strong hinges - Solid build construction - Can easily hold the weight of a Blue Yeti or other heavy condenser mic - Large clamp opening at the bottom with sturdy base - Flexible and easy to move Cons: - Would have really liked have a twist clamp where the arm meets the base to lock it into place, but other than that, it's pretty great. I give it two thumbs up and will be buying a second one to replace a older and inferior arm that I bought years ago. ... show more

  • Very good product, but NOTE OF CAUTION for consideration
Size: T20
UPDATE: After replacing this product with an alternative that was $15 cheaper, I can honestly say this "TONOR" arm is well built quality. *IF* it fits your space, it is well worth the extra $15 over the popular competitor. The replacement/competitor I ordered is light weight, thin metal and does not appear nearly as durable or functional. This TONOR felt like a "real" mic arm, whereas my new replacement feels like a toy. (initial TONOR review below). =========== This appears to be a high quality product. However, I could not use this microphone arm and I'm writing this review to (hopefully) save future returns. If you are using this on a traditional table / desk with good clearance underneath, you will be fine. On the other hand, if you are using this for a space that has limited clearance underneath (ie a counter or desk overhang) the design might not work for you. Why not? Take note of the headphone hook. This hook adds another two (or so) inches to the clamp. Thus, limiting some places that this will fit. I clamp to a bar counter overhang and I was well over an inch shy. Too bad.... this arm would have been great! The headphone hook cannot be moved away from the clamp. You will need at least 3.5 or maybe 4 inches of under carriage clearance to clamp this. Whereas traditional clamps require about 2 inches of clearance. If this is not a concern to you, I would recommend. Appears quite sturdy. It would have met my expectations otherwise. ... show more

  • THE MOST IMPORTANT REVIEW OF ALL
Size: T20
i do voiceover work and a bit of gaming. i loved that they included both the foam pop filter and the double layered mesh filter. i haven’t tried the mesh filter yet, but can say that the foam one is very nicely made for the rode procaster. the only qualm i have with this item is the fact that rode’s default mount kit (the one that came in the box with the procaster) is not strong enough to hold its own microphone on this stand. maybe it’s just user error as it seems to work in certain orientations, but not others. IF YOU HAVE A CURVY DESK THIS WONT WORK! please make sure you use a flat desk as the base for this mount is bigger than my ego. furthermore, the bottom of the arm is held into place by pressure of the rest of the arm going downwards—thus, this microphone arm is not suitable to be mounted upside down. what’s also important is that you use a lighter microphone to ensure the best experience. microphones like the Rode Procaster (745g / 1.53 lbs) aren’t super reliable with this setup. HOWEVER, the Shure SM58, 57, Beta 87A, Neewer BM-800, Blue Yeti, Blue Snowball, and other lightwe microphones should work relatively well for this stand. just be sure that your microphone is not as heavy as mine and you will get phenomenal results. good job to Tonor for this build overall, including everything they did within this price range. i’m only being nitpicky because i know someone else is going to want something super high class for a super low price. in that case, you’re better off with a Blue Compass, Rode PSA1, or something greater than $50. it’s quite a steep price for something like this, but are you really gonna protect a diamond with the casing of a potato? don’t think so. hope this was of some use to you all. cheers! i was compensated for this review. ... show more
