I only gave it 4 stars because I literally got it an hour ago and shot this video 15 minutes ago (7-21-20 @ 1:21 PM) so I haven’t really gotten to test it out very much. I do lives for my business & my internal mic on my iPhone XR is shot, so I decided to get a cheap mic I could use for now. I clipped this onto my ring light & it still worked great! The media could not be loaded. Exactly what I was needing to do video recording with my iPhone 11. Works well with the camera video and with ZOOM. I do not feel that I need to be in competition with other noises around me. The sound quality may be a result of having to too close to my mouth.

    • IOS Users: if you get an occasional pop or click, put your phone in airplane mode - fixes it!
Overall I like this mic for the price; it is fine for some basic YouTube videos I have recorded, and is a significant step up in quality versus the internal iPhone mics (I'm on an iPhone 7 Plus). Note that I was initially very disappointed to hear pops and clicks in my recording that seem to occur once every 5 seconds or so. After researching various "cures" online, I finally found one that works: put the phone in airplane mode! This disables the wifi radio, which apparently is what can cause the sound issues. For the money (not much), this is a worthwhile purchase for light-duty audio recording. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I have to say this mini mic will help me in the long run! I can make my acting clips/ self tapes for acting or auditions. Of course it did not come with instructions BUT once you input the mic you can talk, you won’t hear anything until after you ejected the cord from your phone and the quality is just MUAA. I cord length is perfect for far more close up shots, you can vlog, do YouTube stuff, etc. the noise cancellation is great there’s only your voice and no outside noises buzzy your video.     • Excellent Sound from a Small Mic
Since I do a lot of video editing & instructional video compilation on my iPad for my ice hockey teams, I am always looking the "perfect" microphone solution to help with making the audio portion of my narration and instruction sound more natural. This mic has been amazing so far. Likewise, I do much of my video editing while in hotel rooms or public work spaces such as ice rinks, so noise reduction on the mic is also important for me. I want my players to be able to hear my voice clearly without the distraction from background noise or pops & crackles in my voice. I use an iPad to do a lot of video recordings for the kids at school. I'm a Police Chaplain at an elementary school. Now forced to be on Zoom. More than half the time the videos did not record ANY audio. There is no visual conformation audio is being recorded on an iPad. So you do 15min story book video and the go listen, NO AUDIO of only a high pitched squeal. BIG BUMMER! I ordered the PowerDeWise and followed the same start sequence (Open Camera, plug in Lighting connector, Start video). Then to listen you must unplug the mic. I returned it notified Amazon. This mic bogus mic failed 75%. The PowerDeWise worked every time ... show more
