Texture is absolutely great. Great germination rate for small seeds BUT too many small twigs. Spent a lot of time removing them. That’s the only reason I couldn’t give them a 5 star rating. They must have a hole in their screens. I will buy again for the great germination rate

Purchased to use as top cover for grass. As others have mentioned it is full of sticks or bark, some 4-5 inches long, rocks as well. I don't see that mentioned in the product description. It is what it is, so don't tell me it makes a good top dressing.

I have some low spots and areas of the lawn that needed some help. I bought one bag and put about half of it in one spot and the rest in two other spots. Looks like the grass is starting to fill in in those areas after about two weeks. So I will be buying a few more bags now that I think it is working like I want. ... show more

This product is half mix with Wood chips and stones. For the price you buy, you get only 3/4 of black soil. Be mindful what you use it for. It’s only for the rich mulchy top to cover the area around the tree or Bush. It’s not good for planting grass or other plants. You will end up taking out all those twigs and stones as they block areas for new grass to grow. Just be mindful, because it’s not cheap. ... show more
