This Mic Stand Floor Microphone Stand with Heavy Weighted Base is a good product. The base is flat and a heavy steel, with the bottom being covered in a rubber material to prevent scratching. It is fairly sturdy and isn't very prone to tip over. In fact, I don't see why it couldn't be used as a small boom. The height is adjustable and it comes with two types of mic holders. It also comes with an adapter to move and adjust the whole mic which is mostly plastic and I don't prefer this one. I do have much better adapters than this one. That's about the only thing on it that is plastic other than the cord clips. This comes in a matte black finish that is unlikely to reflect light from photography or live performances. However, that finish is going to skin up a bit and scar. How can I tell? It came with the finish slightly scratched already. it's no big deal but as it's used, that paint will wear.

This is just being used in our rehearsal space at the time but I love the white aesthetic and love the the base is different. It’s also nice that it kind of extends the mic out with the attachment. It’s built hefty and strong too. Setup took me under 5 minutes so no problem there. It feels solid and I like it.

But wait, there is more! The top tube portion has an adjustment inside of it - turn that to loosen, then raise the top higher. The top item is a 1/4 20 threaded screw, which is what we use most for Consumer, or Prosumer video cameras and such, this mic stand can be used for that purpose, because it also has a ball head we can place on top. The ball head can use that 1/4 20 screw, and it (the ball head) can make use of the 3/8 screw to hold either of the microphone holders, and BOTH of the microphone holders have a removeable 3/8 piece such that the hole is the normal microphone stand size hole (5/8 27)... so we can mount up microphones or other equipment pretty easily. I am very happy for acquiring this stand, it can function in a vast array of positions as I might require for various types of video. If I need a pole to hold out over a speaker, I have other boom poles for that. But this mic stand is very, very nice. Five Stars!

Picked this up for my daughter as a prop for her performances for us here at home. The unit is painted white and I'm wondering how long before paint flakes. Instructions were easy to figure out and assembly was straight forward. Holds both of the style of mics she has and even comes with fixed width and a clamping-style holder. Overall, very happy with this one.
