The boom is very stable. All the pieces were there. I was warned that other sellers do not include all the pieces but I am very grateful that this showed up as advertised. Keep in mind that one of the attachment pieces that is required to connect the mic to the silver connector on the boom is a piece that only comes with the mic so if you're missing a piece make sure you check the mic box.

This monitor arm is not the time that can extend and retract without additionally tightening each elbow. This is the kind of arm where you set it where you need it, and you dont touch it. No springs so that you can pull it out and push it back at will, so once you pull it out to where you want it, you tighten the knobs so that it doesnt move. The problem i have with this is the middle elbow (connecting the two arms) has to be SUPER tight. If i make any adjustments, i typically have to stand up and turn it just about as hard as i can to get it tight enough to not slowly drop over time. I have a Quadcast S microphone, and it works decently on this arm but it feels like its always a bit loose no matter what, but that doesnt really cause any problems other than i can bump it and it will rotate or fall a bit. Overall, it a decent arm for setups where you extend it out to where you want it, tighten all the joints and leave it. If you will be moving this around often, then this is not the arm for you.

Definitely cannot hold up a blue yeti mic. NONE of the joints tighten enough to hold one. I can't imagine it supporting any mic. It can't even support its own weight! You can twist the joints until you're afraid it might break, but it's all just going to drop and fall anyway. Such a disappointment.

Holding an SM7b, it lasted and worked well being extended back and forth. Only real issue up until the point of failure was having to continuously tighten the joints or else it would slowly drop to my desk. Then today, I went to extend the mic as normal, and the middle joint completely snapped off, luckily was holding the arm fairly tight and my mic didn't drop. Currently have it rigged with just one piece of the arm until I can get a new, better arm in.

The microphone arm stand is a useful, sturdy, and flexible stand for your desk-based microphone. The stand is quite heavy duty and has good weight to it. The springs work efficiently and will hold in any position without floating either upwards or downwards. A good size microphone was easily attached to this device and it held without difficulty. It has enough flexibility and pivot points that you can place a microphone in just about any position you would need. It also comes with a pop screen which is attachable to one of the arms of the microphone stand. This works quite well and again is flexible and can be positioned in any position. The set up of the microphone arm stand was nearly instantaneous. The entire thing took less than three minutes to complete. Again this is a sturdy device. It appears to be quite well-made and should last for quite some time. It is perfect for its designed function.
