The harness was very easy to install. It came, well packaged in a bubblewrap envelope and in a timely fashion. I purchased this to install into my wife's 2012 Kia Sedona to connect to my new Pioneer AVH-4200NEX head unit that I just had professionally installed. I wanted to retain the factory USB port to use with the Android Auto feature and the factory AUX-in 3.5mm port. First the good news: The install was quick and extremely painless. This new harness fits like a glove at the factory port mount and had plenty of cable length to install up to the head unit without obstruction. You can connect a USB drive to the port and it can read and play MP3 files just fine. The AUX-in port works without complaint. And the not-so-good: This harness will NOT allow the factory USB port to be leveraged for Android Auto. Yes, yes, I plugged my new phone into it, and Android Auto launched and I could see the maps. Then I started going down the road and in about 3 minutes, it lost connection. I unplugged the phone and tried again with the same results. Thus, I can assure you, this is a non-starter. That being said, however, I do NOT know if the root cause is this harness or the factory USB port itself. Either could be at fault. All that being said, I ended up keeping the harness installed, but moved it to the Apple CarPlay port, as I don't have an iPhone, and will leverage it for USB drive purposes and charging only. It was cheap enough that it's better than not having access to that port for anything. I gave this device a solid 3-stars. It does do exactly what it advertises, but does not meet the primary need for which I purchased it. I will keep the device, and would recommend to others who fully understand the expectations they should have under the same conditions. Unfortunately, I purchased this for a specific purpose, and it wasn't met, but I don't specifically know that all fault lies with this harness. Critieria for Stars: 1 - Total rip off, doesn't perform basic advertised functions or not product advertised. I would likely RETURN and would NEVER recommend. 2 - Not worth the money. Performs some of the basic advertised functions, but likely not all, and ultimately was deemed as not providing enough value for the money spent. I would not buy again, and would likely not recommend unless the buyer had a very specific use case. 3 - It performs the basic functions as advertised, and has some usefulness at the price point, but doesn't work for all of the reasons I purchased. I would likely not buy again, and would only recommend if buyer understood usefulness limitations. 4 - It performs most all of the features I purchased it for, but has limitations. I would likely buy again and would recommend. 5 - Completely as advertised and likely exceeded expectations. Is if high quality and well shipped. Does what says, plugged straight in to the stock part and it works, as others said carplay and Android auto won't work for most but that has more to do with the stock connection block, also you lose the back lighting as is but thats ok, you can get it back, the attached picture is the wiring diagram for a Genesis coupe but should be the same for most Hyundai/Kia vehicles, you need wires 8 and 11, labeled ill(+) and GND, carefully remove the pins and insert them into the exact same spot on the new connector, you need to use small flat screw driver and you need to push it in until the pin is all the way in, and just like that it's back lit again with your lights. ... show more

Pretty straight forward. JVC KW-V50BT & 2013 Hyundai Sonata.... requires additional adapter for ipod in 2013 Hyundai Sonata to work...you need a 3.5mm plug to triple rca to keep ipod functionality. Used a volt/ohm meter or continuity tester to figure out which pins on 3.5mm go to the correct 2 rca. 1 rca will be unused from the additional adapter you get. I only found one seller on Amazon that had a 3.5mm to 3 rca adapter in stock at the time I purchased this device. I only care about USB since I have android but did purchase additional adapter from another vendor to keep iPhone functionality. As I understand it anyway. ..iPhone changed their interface after this so really don't care ......all I know is that it works fine for me. ..I use the stock USB interface because I installed this product . This product works great. Just make sure you purchase the other adapter if you are installing JVC KW-V50BT. ... show more

Works just fine in my 2013 Elantra with the aftermarket Android head unit I installed. A thing to note, though, is that you'll lose illumination to the labels under the ports. This could be remedied by tapping into a couple of wires in the car's factory harness but I didn't bother since the ports are usually hidden anyway. Only nicked the rating one star because of quality control. One of the wires had a tear in the jacket. It exposed bare wire and I had to repair it. This was such a handy add-on. My new head unit had rear USB. I want to preserve the stock function of the built-in USB ports in my 2013 Hyundai Accent, and this did the trick. Cables are very long and have plenty of reach to snake down to the port. The port panel just pops out when pushed from the back. The harness plugs right in. Just leave the old factory harness in the console for when you revert back to factory equipment. Keep in mind that this has male RCA out. This fit my Kia forte, but like others have said it does not allow CarPlay on my aftermarket stereo. Ultimately I couldn’t use this and needed to run a new USB port to use CarPlay. It charged my phone and the aux worked.
