I believe the lenses were designed for use on the water. They block reflection. I went on a boat cruise on a vacation in the Caribbean and the whole crew was wearing Costas! First time I put them on I was amazed. Colors were so bright and everything popped out and seemed 3-D. I have another pair that I bought five years ago. They are two tone and very stylish. I don’t take very good care of my sunglasses. I just take them off and throw them in the cupholder in the car. So far even the old ones are in perfect shape and no scratches on the lenses. I’ve been dreaming of these since seeing them at a Costa pop up tent at a local festival. I love the snug fit and knowing they won’t easily fall off my face. My previous sunglasses were dark and I found myself constantly putting them on my head to see better in less sunlit areas. I am pleasantly surprised with both the clarity and brightness when looking through the lenses of these Costa sunglasses. I often forget to take them off inside! They are much more durable compared to other Aviators I’ve tried. Especially when it comes to the arms - they don’t feel like they will easily snap off. Something about glass Costa lenses that just blow everything else away. The colors are more intense, I feel like I’m in the Caribbean or South Pacific when looking at the water. And you can see all the gradations of bottom depth and where they change. I can see the reefs even on a cloudier day. A must have if you boat.
