Description

Install a new car radio faster with this wiring harness that plugs right into the vehicle's connectors, allowing you to hook up the radio into the vehicle's electrical system. On one side, the wiring harness is color-coded with wires that you'll connect or solder into the aftermarket radio/receiver. The other side has a vehicle-specific adapter that connects directly into the original radio connectors for a quicker installation without having to cut each of the wires. Keep in mind that you may need additional parts to complete your installation, including a dash kit, antenna adapter, and, depending on your vehicle, a special interface adapter to retain audio controls on your steering wheel or other important vehicle functions like navigation, video, and more. Look up your vehicle at MetraOnline for more information.

  • Worked Perfectly
Style: Single Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This part worked perfectly. We were installing an aftermarket stereo and didn't want to cut and splice the stock wiring harness. Plus it was challenging to figure out what colored wire connected to the new wiring harness. This cable resolved both issues. The color coding matched perfectly with the new stereo making splicing wires easy. Ultra quick shipping as well. High quality and great value. ... show more

  • Easy to Use, No Subwoofer Wiring for Acura TL
Style: Single Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I recently used this wiring harness to install a JVC KW-XR810 head unit in my 2002 Acura TL S-Type. The wiring harness worked well and was easy to use. It was nice that all of the wires came pre-cut and ready to strip. The packaging also had a wiring guide on the back that explained what each wire's purpose was. This was helpful because all I had to do was match up the corresponding wires from the new head unit harness to the Metra harness. To be clear, you technically do not need to purchase this harness. This harness wires to the wiring harness for your aftermarket head unit and then plugs into your car's wiring harness. The benefits of this wiring harness are that you do not need to cut into your factory wiring and that you can do all of your wiring while you are seated comfortably at a table inside your house and then just connect the plugs in the car. So, while you don't need this to do the job, it is definitely worth the money for the convenience and for the reduced chance of failure. One thing I must point out is that this device is only wired to support 4 speakers (front L & R, rear L & R) so if your car has a factory subwoofer (i.e. a fifth speaker), this wiring harness will not support it. Also, I've looked around and there is not an aftermarket wiring harness out there that does support the subwoofer. Rather, what you have to do is run a RCA out of your new head unit and splice it into the subwoofer line for your car. There are plenty of "how-to's" floating around on the web. I was able to find one for my Acura TL and I have the factory subwoofer working now. Overall, I would recommend this. It works perfectly and is great for the price. -Cheers! ... show more

  • Super easy to install
Style: Single Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
This worked perfectly for the 2nd Gen Honda CR-V and mated to the Kenwood Excelon 696s Wiring harness does require assembly, and if you have auto wire strippers, USE them. Shrink tubing is what i used. I feel its better than butt-connectors. Every cable in the instructions they email to you matched up well to the OEM harness and I have not had any issues yet in over many years. Pros: It worked, lol it was kinda fun wiring everything, Perfect fit Instructions very complete and straightforward Cons: No crimp connectors included - it's okay. now I can do it with ease ... show more

  • Makes Installing An Aftermarket Stereo A Breeze
Style: Single Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Wiring harnesses may not seem like a very glamorous part of getting a new flashy stereo to replace your tired old factory one - they are just a bunch of wires and a plastic connector. However, this little doohickey saves tons of effort when installing it yourself. This particular harness was a very solidly constructed one - the wiring seemed substantial and the pre-stripped ends definitely saved some time. The fit was perfect with the factory connector in the car and everything powered on without a hitch. You can't beat the Amazon price, either - a number of other retailers are charging substantially more. One thing to note - on my 2000 Honda Accord SE, there were more wires on this harness than wires on the stereo connector for my deck (Pioneer DEH-2400UB) - don't fret, just tuck them aside - key is to focus solely on matching colors here. I imagine they may be used for other applications. ... show more

  • Fit Honda Civic sedan 2000 perfect.
Style: Single Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I purchased this wiring harness to install a replacement car stereo into of friend's 2000 Honda Civic sedan. The Metra comes in plastic bag with the insulation ends of each wire already pre-cut so you can slide the tips right off and be ready to make your connections. Wire gauge is quite good and the internal wiring is copper. There's a diagram on the bag that shows the Color correlation to function and that was very clear. The only confusion during the process was the dimming wire whose definition didn't seem to match up with the definition of the dimming function wire on the head unit harness, but I ended up just connecting them anyway and it worked properly to dim the head units display when you turn the car's headlights on. Overall this was Quality unit that fit right into the factory wiring and made the install go quick and smooth. I wish they included crimp connectors so you could just get right to connecting rather than make another trip to buy connectors. ... show more

  • Perfect for my Van
Style: Single Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I purchased the Clarion CZ302 Bluetooth Receiver and the Metra 99-7898 Dash kit and the Metra 70-1721 Wiring harness for my 1999 Honda Odyssey van and it went together amazingly easy. The dash kit fit perfectly and the wiring was flawless. I soldered the wires from the clarion receiver to the harness in about 15-20 mins and plugged it all in and it worked perfectly. The receiver itself has all the functions I was hoping for. The blue tooth connects quickly and never randomly disconnects like some cheap blue tooth products. I couldn't be happier with this combination of dash kit, wiring harness and receiver. Dash Kit looks factory stock and holds the receiver very tight. ... show more
