I should have read the reviews. I have used 3 posts so far in soft soil. All 3 the spade broke off. Thankfully I didn't need the full height so I was able to go deep enough that they will serve the purpose

The tapered tip makes these posts easy to seat in the ground. I have chicken wire around several plants to protect them from deer damage. I had bamboo rods holding the wire in place, but they were not sturdy enough to keep the deer out. These posts hold everything in place and when pounded into place, they are not moving anywhere. A few of the stakes had some of the "hooks" for hanging the fence closed (see pics). I had to use a screw driver to open them back up before I could hang the fence, but it just takes a quick twist.
