Description

The 18V Brushless Lithium Ion 6-1/2" Deep Cut Circular Saw - C18DBALQ4 (bare tool) is a revolutionary cordless circular saw. Utilizing a 6-1/2" blade it is capable of a 2-19/32" cutting depth - making it one of the deepest cutting cordless circular saws on the market with a similar cut capacity as a 7-1/4" saw. This circular saw combines comfort and convenience with power and precision. The Brushless motor reduces size and weight, while increasing the power and performance. The C18DBALQ4 circular saw features a built-in spotlight, an electric brake, and is capable of generating a no-load speed of 4, 100 RPM. The C18DBALQ4 is equipped with a silent mode (auto mode) setting that reduces the max motor RPM enabling efficient work with less noise. When the load increases during silent mode, the tool will automatically switch over to Power mode and revert back to Silent mode when the load decreases. This saw offers various safety features such as overload protection. This cuts off the power to the motor in the event of overload or an apparent reduction in rotational speed during operation thereby protecting the user and the motor and battery from damage. The C18DBALQ4 circular saw is also fitted with further safety features such as soft start to reduce kick back on start-up and an electric brake that rapidly stops blade rotation once the trigger is released. At only 6. 8 lbs (when equipped with a Compact 3. 0Ah battery model (BSL1830C) and with a center balanced design, the C18DBALQ4 is one of the most lightweight, compact and powerful cordless circular saws on the market. Available as a tool body only, it is compatible with Metabo HPT's 18V or 36V(MultiVolt) slide type Lithium Ion batteries (both sold separately). Covered by Metabo HPT's Lifetime Lithium Ion tool.

Metabo 6-1/2 Inch 18Volt Cordless Circular Saw (Tool Only). A finely made circular saw, cuts over 2.5" deep with a 6-1/2" blade. I have many Hitachi/Metabo 18Volt batteries and they fit on this saw just fine. Plenty of power to cut through 2x material with ease. The quality of workmanship is superb; a finely polished saw plate lets the saw glide over the material to be cut very nicely. I purchased this while it was on sale to replace an older Dewalt 18 volt saw. It is lighter and easier to use. Another reason was I already owned a number of Metabo/Hitachi 18 volt tools and the batteries are interchangeable making it easier to maintain without having to keep multiple chargers. The saw works well when access to ac power is not available. It may not be best for heavy duty cutting but for light or medium construction work it will do the job. ... show more

I first bought a Hyper Tough at Walmart for $60 with a battery and charger, but then I saw this one, Metabo, for $88 (-36%) but without a battery. The charger and 2 3 Ah batteries on Metabo cost $98 (-53%) and of course I was tempted to buy Metabo. Before this I bought a gringer Metabo for $40 with a case and 5 discs and I must say that it is very strong. When the saw arrived, it seemed suspicious in quality, because I had a lot of Metabo tools in Ukraine and I read that Metabo HPT is not a German Metabo, but a renamed Japanese Hitachi. This really upset me and I was already thinking about sending it back and keeping the Hyper T, but the analysis was as follows: HT with a smooth start and an impressive instant stop, 4000 rpm, but it has a slight vibration and is brushed. Since the battery and charger included are weak, the price is $60 just for the saw. Metabo HPT also has a soft start, stopping is fast, but not instantaneous like the HT, 4100 rpm, but there is no vibration at all (there is also no vibration on the grinder at all). A charger and batteries for HT for a total of 6 Ah will cost ~ $90-100, but charging is slow (2Ah - 90 minutes), while Metabo HPT 3Ah - 30 minutes (charger with forced cooling). The plate on Metabo is cast, with two-sided fixation of the angle of inclination (0-45), while the HT has a stamped plate with fixation on one side. Cut an oak board one inch across the grain very well both. If you cut, the Metabo has a motor on the left side, while the HT has a motor on the right. Both saws give the impression of being a reliable tool, but the Metabo HPT is definitely for professionals. ... show more

This saw is blade right. All the other small saws put your left hand where it souldnt be. One thing you need to spend 5 minutes doing and you'll love this saw. The edges where the rip guide slide into the shoe are just sharp enough to drag on an aluminum guide. Get a piece of fine sand paper like shown in the picture and sand down those edges. It took me no time to make this saw slide like it was on ice. WELL WORTH THE EFFORT. Now I have the small plywood/panel saw I've wanted. ... show more
